But Hotel La Finca Golf & Spa Resort is so much more than just a sunbathing retreat. Boasting an elegant concept design and a prestigious golf-course location, this five-star beauty will add a stylish new dimension to your summer break.
The leisure options extend way beyond the bunkers and putting greens. With tennis courts, a sleek outdoor pool and a high-spec spa featuring waterfalls, luxury loungers, a sauna and Jacuzzi, you don’t need to own a five-iron to enjoy the resort in full. A stroll around the grounds will reveal the laser-cut precision of the green lawns, native trees and chic sun terraces, while inside, the presiding theme is space and light – with huge floor-to-ceiling windows and clean, minimalist interiors.
How to Get There
Was holidaying nearby and decided to come for a night to La Finca. It was fantastic. The bedrooms look a lot better in real life, they are quite clinical in the photos IMO. The bathroom was also lovely. Large balcony, mine overlooked the golf course. The pool area is nice and has a bar. There are plenty loungers. When I went, there seemed to only be a handful of others about so nice and relaxing. The restaurant was also very good. The waiter made good wine recommendations in line with our budget. Breakfast was brilliant, lots of choice and nice food. My partner wanted to play golf the next day, he was able to hire clubs etc and get onto the course no problem. I was also allowed to sit in the golf buggy while he went round. We were here in early August and it was boiling. The course was dry in places but the greenkeepers were doing as best they could to keep the course in good shape. The only negative I can think off is that because the hotel is quite remote, there is nothing to do apart from golf/spa and pool. This may be what you want but it is something to consider. I was badly sunburnt the first day and they didn't sell sun cream so be prepared otherwise the nearest town is 15 mins away in a taxi. I loved it though and will definitely be back. Nice touch upon check in too with a glass of bubbly!
A great place to stay for golf and relaxation. The hotel is very nice and everything is well thought out. Good food. Easy access to the La Finca golf course, which is one of the best in the area.
Pos. Reasonable prices at the bar
Neg. A 10€ charge for the sauna+bath area and an additional 2€ for a mandatory swim cap.
The hotel looks amazing and the rooms are very comfortable with twin beds just pushed together and made up as individual beds so assume no doubles are available. The hotel was virtually empty while we were there so the 8 of us never had to queue for breakfast, which had plenty of variety.
The bar staff, especially Inaki, were friendly and gave quality service, remembering our drinks each night.
The food for the evenings was wonderful, even though we mostly ate from the bar menu there was plenty of variety on there.
The spa was lovely but felt it should be free for guests, it was special offer of 10euros for 90 mins but again with so few in the hotel it wasn’t busy.
There are a couple of reasons this hotel has not got 5 stars
1. We asked at reception if we could get a continental breakfast as we were leaving 30 mins before breakfast was served and we had paid for it, The lady we asked said they would only do a picnic, which was a sandwich and water and some cheap cereal bar ( I know as I had paid for one in the week and there was no choice, you got what you were given, not good)
So I asked if we could have coffee and tea before we went, she again said just NO.
The next day I asked another male receptionist, but again only picnic, but he did offer to put out some coffee and tea for us, but can you believe they served this in thin plastic water cups! Highly dangerous and obviously staff too lazy to wash some proper cups. I have never been anywhere where you could not get an early morning drink in a proper cup/mug. So this is definitely not even 4 star service.
2. Golf, we played 3 days at the la Finca course but on the 3rd day the ladies/red tees where not out and we had to play off unmade tees, which was very poor. The lady in the caddy master was quite abrupt and unfriendly.
Lastly if you are only there for golf then that’s good but it is very remote and 15 euros taxi to nearby town-each way
All in all we enjoyed our stay but because of the later would not rush to return.
This is a well presented modern hotel. Reception is huge - not really cosy, but quite stylish. Our bedroom was comfortable, the bathroom magnificent with great wet room & a spacious verandah overlooking the golf course. The choice at breakfast is good and includes eggs made to order if that's what you want. In the evening, the set menu including wine was OK, a la carte better.
The golf course was in great condition given the time of year (November) and the practice facilities were pretty good too - though the teeing area of driving range was rather patchy.
Staff were friendly, efficient and helpful - all in all a very pleasant few days stay.
WOW !!! What a course. This was my 7th course in 9 days and we definitely saved the best for last. The condition and layout was great. I judge a course by many things, greens being very important, can honestly say excellent throughout. Good job greenkeepers and a very helpfull starter. Will be back soon.
