If you’re looking for a nice stretch of sand on which to bronze yourself silly, the southern coast of Spain won’t disappoint. But Hotel La Finca Golf & Spa Resort is so much more than just a sunbathing retreat. Boasting an elegant concept design and a prestigious golf-course location, this five-star beauty will add a stylish new dimension to your summer break.
The leisure options extend way beyond the bunkers and putting greens. With tennis courts, a sleek outdoor pool and a high-spec spa featuring waterfalls, luxury loungers, a sauna and Jacuzzi, you don’t need to own a five-iron to enjoy the resort in full. A stroll around the grounds will reveal the laser-cut precision of the green lawns, native trees and chic sun terraces, while inside, the presiding theme is space and light – with huge floor-to-ceiling windows and clean, minimalist interiors.
How to Get There
Fantastic hotel. Very quiet. Service is extraordinary, especially Marta Mena is very friendly and helpful. The view is great and the rooms are luxurious. The beautiful golf terrain, nature and service make it the perfect location for a fantastic vacation.
Very nice hotel, brilliant service, an extra plus for the lunchrestaurant - ecellent service. I was there working with a golfschool for 20 pax. Lunch can be stressful having a starting time to Catch. Maria working at the restaurant made an brialliant job every day, serving good food, creating a nice atmosphere in the Group and ervery thing in a time som we could relax. Thanks La Finca Gollf and a special thanks to Maria.
I booked a golf holiday through Costa Golf (also never again).
The hotel was a disappointment. Clean and spacious rooms, yes, but the "ambiente" is cold and not welcoming. More like a congress centre. The hotel as such is not place I would choose again. On Sunday it was raining heavily and I asked the hotel to call the Marquesa Golf club for them to issue a rain check. They called but apparently the message didn´t get through so the club claimed that I had been a no show.
Also take into account that you cannot (like in a normal hotel) cancel a reservartion less than 48 hours prior to the night reserved. So I also had to pay another night.
The golf course is so so. I live in Catalunya and there I prefer many of those courses to the Finca course. Well, lesson learnt.
This is not a typical 5 star hotel so don’t expect luxury and you won’t be disappointed, it only earns the stars through the facilities, none of which are great.
It’s geared up for Western golfers, you will not find Spanish people here searching for luxury!
I have just returned to my apartment, having experienced the most embarrassing episode in all my golfing life. I do not profess to be a great golfer, but I love to play the game in the company of friends both old and new.
I have played La Finca a number of times before, and on arrival from England on Friday 5th April I phoned La Finca at 11:02 and booked a round with my Brother-in-Law for 14:36 on Saturday 6th April, with a total cost of €135 including a buggy - I have it written down.
At 13:23 on Saturday 5th, I called back and asked to re-arrange my tee time due to the thunderstorms, and I was given a revised tee time of 15:00 on Sunday 7th April - today, and I again checked that the price was still the same.
So, having just turned up at the clubhouse, a young lady informed me that there was no booking for me, indeed she alleges that there was no booking for me on Saturday 6th either, and said that 14:36 was not a booking time that belonged to La Finca. She then suggested I had got the wrong golf club, and that the number I rang was the hotel not the golf club!
She then offered me a 15:00 tee time, but the cost was over €190 in total. I pointed out that this was not the price agreed and she was almost laughing at me, such was her derision. I declined her new price and left the building.
I have to say I will NOT be returning to La Finca, and I will be informing all the people to whom I have recommended this course, that any booking made is not worth the effort, it is obviously meaningless.
Shame on you.
