Excellent dinner
Reviewed 1 week ago

The location of the hotel is the ultimate place to be, it's so close to the transport systems. But the real highlight was dinner on our one night there.
The quality of every dish was really high and the service top notch.
The next morning breakfast was almost as good and overall this very well ranked hotel deserves its excellent ratings.
The room was very comfortable with a high calibre bed to help sleep off all that mountain walking.

One of the best experiences of my life!
Reviewed 3 weeks ago

Spent 4 wonderful days at the Sumac Hotel in Machu PIcchu Pueblo with my wife and 9 year old son, and we had a incredible experience. The location, right next to the Urubamba river, which we could see directly from our balcony, is just amazing. Before getting there I wondered if my son was going to have a good time, given that this was primarily a cultural trip to explore Machu Picchu. In the end, he had a blast and probably was the happiest of the group. The Hotel has a large array of options to entertain both adults and children, including a visit ti the Machu Picchu museum to learn the story of how the site was discovered, a 3 hour leisure walk to a nearby waterfall, a guided tour through the "stone sculptures" of the town, an in site gastronomic experience in which kids get to prepare corn ice cream (delicious) and cookies with their Chef, etc. Also, they offer a Machu Picchu for Kids Tour, which lets the family explore the citadel with a guide that explains all major aspects in a very entertaining way. Last, but not least, they organized a 6 1/2 hour walk through the Camino Inca, which was the true highlight of the trip. If I could do just one thing, this is what I would do.

The food and service of the Hotel merit a whole paragraph on their own. They really honor the highest standards of Peruvian gastronomy and creatively make use of local ingredients like corn, potatoes, alpaca, trout, quinoa, cocoa, and several local fruits. Breakfast buffet was large, varied and plentiful. Dinner was a top notch experience. Service was more than attentive, and managed to surprise us every day by leaving a different treat in our room every day (fruit baskets, desserts, chocolate covered strawberries, etc).

I really liked the fact that most of the staff comes from the local community. They spoke highly of the efforts from the hotel to keep them well trained and provide a growing professional path for them.

Overall, this was an experience me and my family will never forget. 100% recommended.

"5 Star Experience"
Reviewed 3 weeks ago

Stayed one night on the way to MP. Renewed our Wedding vows. The level of service is above and beyond most of my experiences around the world. Personal care from staff to particular needs and the accommodation to the environments challenges is 5 star. This is THE PLACE TO STAY when visiting.

Very nice place
Reviewed 3 weeks ago

This was one of the fine places we stayed at during a trip to Sacred Valley. It is very classy and the staff are excellent. My only complaint was that this place uses too much frebreze or whatever kind of air freshener they use there. Lots of people are allergic to these air fresheners and it makes life miserable when your face goes numb and you cant breath for two days. It is a very nice place but I would make another choice for motel when I return to Machu Picchu just because I like to breath. The dining was excellent as well.
