Nice Place if You're Not on the Track Side
Reviewed 2 days ago

The only reason I gave this place an "Average" rating is because our room was located on the train track side of the hotel. Other rooms are located on the river which had to be more soothing than dealing with trains running until 1am. Otherwise, the breakfast buffet, staff and location were all excellent. My husband and I enjoyed a 10-minute stroll into town, where we could shop at the local market and explore various shops.

So, if you stay here, just be sure your room isn't on the train track side of the hotel.

The hotel is conveniently located, offers excellent service and good breakfast. If you are looking for a hotel with large grounds, this is not the place. This property is quite compact. You can go for a pleasant walk on the street.

THE BEST Place to stay in Aguas Calientes
Reviewed 2 weeks ago

This place is top of the line. The moment you arrive at the train station they greet you to help carry your luggage to the hotel. When you walk in the door to check-in they serve you a small Peruvian dish with coca tea while you get settled. The staff is so attentive to your every needs, they even helped arrange my tour guide for Machu Picchu. The rooms are beautifully clean and overlook the river. We attended the cooking class where we learned how to make Pisco Sours and Ceviche. They make it SUPER convenient to visit Machu Picchu early in the morning and not have to worry about your luggage in the hotel. You drop it off at the front desk in the morning before heading to Machu Picchu, and they will bring it directly to the Train Station for you in the afternoon. FULL SERVICE! We loved this place and wouldn't stay anywhere else when visiting Aguas Calientes.

Thanks so much to Anibal and the entire staff!

A nice surprise

We had low expectations, given this hotel is in Aqua Calientes, but we were pleasantly surprised. The hotel had a great location, right on the edge of that wonderfully violent Urubamba river. It is about a 5 minute stroll to the train station. It was clean and comfortable. The staff was eager to please, and the restaurant there was quite good (we had dinner and buffet breakfast included with our tour). There was a good variety of food and good service.
I'm used to staying in high end hotels, and though this is not the Belmond we stayed at in Cusco, it compares favorably well to 4 star hotels you'd find at American ski resorts. One of the nice things about the rooma are their proximity to the river. Obviously, if river noise keeps you awake, you should let them know ahead of time.
ps: you can flush your toilet paper here.
