Situated directly on the beach at Great Bay, Holland House Beach Hotel has 54 guestrooms that have a simple, beachy aesthetic: pops of lemongrass and mauve, hardwood floors, flat-screen TVs and floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors that open up to spacious furnished private balconies. Walk straight out onto the sand to the hotel’s private beach loungers, where attendants are always on hand to bring you a refreshing cocktail or a bite to eat. The Ocean Lounge Bar & Restaurant mixes Caribbean and European cuisines into mouthwatering surf-and-turf. Signature dishes include roast rack of lamb and mahi-mahi and caviar. For extra R&R, the hotel can arrange in-room massages and aromatherapy treatments. But if you’re looking to flex that plastic, step out the hotel’s front door and you’ll find yourself on Philipsburg’s main shopping street.

How to Get There
We stayed here after our cruise and we should have stayed here before. You get to look out ot the ship you will be leaving on and that is fun to see the ships going and coming. The town is a bit crazy but what I found so funny is the town basically closes up at about 8 at night. The room here was ok the breakfast ok. Room was clean and nice with plenty of towels.
If in Durban and you want to stay in a non Standard Hotel, this is the perfect spot. Almost Like a home with the perfect Service. Very personal. For me a must do when in Durban. Breakfast was great and the owner a real host
We stayed at the Holland House Beach Hotel for one night before boarding the Wind Surf for a transatlantic cruise. From the moment we stepped out of our taxi, we were impressed with the gracious and friendly staff.
Our room wasn’t quite ready, so we enjoyed excellent mojitos on the bar’s terrace facing the water. They tasted even better because they were served with a smile.
We were in Room 406, and found it not lacking for any amenity. The bed was very comfortable and had great linens. Shower was to die for. Balcony was a perfectly private place and great to enjoy an after dinner glass of wine. Complementary bottled water was available in the minibar. They also had a nespresso machine, though we did not use it.
We ate at the Ocean Lounge for dinner and lunch. Both meals were fabulous. I especially loved the seafood risotto- note: very large portion. My husband enjoyed a main of seafood grill and the shrimp appetizer. Both were very good and priced as you would expect at a quality restaurant on St Maarten.
In short, excellent accommodations, tasty food and outstanding service. What more could you want?
Stayed here for 3 nights not impressed. Food was not to great for the money they are charging you would expect better. Room was ok but a lot of cockroaches and big ones. Best thing about it was location
Saw reviews of Holland House before leaving on our cruise and put it on our list. Gald we did it was my favorite land day of the trip. Very easy to get to from the ship, just grab a 5 minute water taxi ride to the beach. Once off the taxi, walk right past all the venders yelling at you, turn right up the beach. In just a couple minutes you will see the White Umbrellas and you are there. Go to the small beach bar in front of the hotel and tell them you would like a chair for the day. $25 for 2 padded chairs, umbrella, small table, a a bucket of 4 beers, bathroom, and shower. What a deal! The front row of chairs are reserved for hotel guests until 2pm, but everything thing else can be rented first come. If you just want a relaxing beach day with a great view, that is very easy to get to, Holland House is the place. Magens Bay at St. Thomas has nothing on this place.
This review is only for the beach. I was not a guest of the hotel.
