Classic Caribbean all-inclusive on Antigua’s southern tip, with two private beaches, a championship tennis center and a pair of top-notch restaurants
Flanked by water, Curtain Bluff sits on a rocky bluff jutting over the sea. Everything from the ribbon sun loungers to the concertina blinds exudes a 1960s-style glamour, but easy-to-come-by hammocks, a splurge-worthy spa, beach bar and abundant rum drinks — for an all-inclusive price — make it easy to unwind here, too.
Bed & Bath
Updated annually, the 72 rooms and suites are decorated in an ocean-blue and sand palette that mirrors the colors of the beach. Deluxe Rooms are located right on Surf Beach while Bluff Rooms offer room to spread out at 851-square feet. Both include private terraces, as well as refrigerators, air conditioning and oversized soaking tubs.
There are two private beaches, one for swimming and one for water sports, and there’s a freeform saltwater pool with chaise longues on which to unplug and unwind. For a similar degree of repose, the resort’s hilltop spa offers such sea-inspired treatments as its signature caviar and pearl facial, which is applied against an uninterrupted backdrop of Montserrat and the ocean. When the sun goes down, the resort comes to life. Guests don their finest loungewear and head for the Tamarind Tree restaurant for executive chef Christophe Blatz’s take on the classic chateaubriand with bearnaise sauce and a glass of Côtes du Rhone in the plantation-style dining room, which has whirring ceiling fans and a toe-tapping live band.
