The Lowdown

Facing the Dalmatian’s clear emerald waters and featuring environmentally-conscious design, Croatia’s four-star Hotel Split impeccably masters green living with a luxurious twist. Framed by coastal mountains and the Adriatic waters, and within easy reach of the area’s historical attractions, this beach front hideaway is the perfect introduction to the Dalmatian Coast’s beauty and cultural heritage.
With Dalmatia right on its doorstep, Hotel Split draws inspiration from the region’s architectural sites with its own aesthetic. You’ll find references to Marmont Street, the Cellars and Peristyle of Diocletian’s Palace, a must-visit UNESCO World Heritage site. Located on Podstrana’s pebble beach, Hotel Split enjoys calming sea views best taken in from its Sunset Terrace.

Superior Sea View rooms are chic, contemporary and coloured to suit all tastes, with blue, green, turquoise, terracotta, purple and grey hues. Soundproofing and plumped-up mattresses add the finishing touches for a good night’s sleep.

Local ingredients and sea views top the menu at L’Aroma restaurant. While Mediterranean delicacies and Dalmatia’s colourful classics adorn your plate, Croatia’s beautiful coastline provides a great backdrop for candlelit dining. Come sundown, it’s all about the cool white loungers and cocktail menu at the lobby bar, as well as the live cooking shows on the Sunset Terrace.

Sea views and aromatherapy treatments are at the heart of the wellness concept at Sea L’Aroma. When you’re not soaking up the benefits of a herbal bio-sauna – a soothing combination of fresh Mediterranean herbs – you can give the hammam, whirlpool and customisable massages a try.

Located on Podstrana’s pebble beach, Hotel Split is just 25 kilometres from Split Airport. Ferries and shuttle buses give you daily access to the city centre, with impressive views of the Dalmatian islands and Marjan Hill on your way. Honeymoon Heaven
Reviewed 7 days ago

Arrived early evening to a warm welcome. Hotel knew it was our honeymoon and they had prepared room with swan towels and petals.

Room is air conditioned and this is controlled by reception so you need to ask them to adjust it.

Breakfast is 7.30am - 10.30am we missed this twice due to early morning tours. Breakfast is lovely and fresh. Everything you need.

Ate in the restaurant once it was best meal we had. Small menu but ample. Ranges from £8 a meal to £20.

Drinks are expensive if they are imported drinks so drink local and it’s fine.

Road out front is busy but perfectly fine to cross as they do stop to let you cross.

Couple of shops in walking distance for cheaper water/drinks.

Bus stop short walk. Number 60 gets you in to town for £1.50 each a Uber is £10.

Couple of beach front bars with cocktails to the right of hotel. To the left of you walk approx 20minutes it has amazing yachts and more bars.

You can hire sun loungers. Attached photo.

Beach is stones. Lots of locals use the beach and it does get busy at weekends.

Pool on rooftop - no bar there when we went. So we took our own. Was nice to relax and soak up the evening sun with a book.

Wi-fi is excellent everywhere.

We used Jam transfers for airport transfers as a lot cheaper than hotel price.

We did the tours organised in town as a bit cheaper but you do have to get to town early. The hotel do offer a taxi service (£10).

Everyone at the hotel was lovely. Room made up daily the maids were great. Restaurant staff very pleasant. Everyone spoke and said hello and chatted.

Def recommend hotel if you want relaxing rather than the mass noise in central Split.

Gem of a Hotel

Me and my partner stayed here for 3 nights after 4 wild days in Hvar. This hotel couldn’t of felt more relaxing for what we needed! The taxi driver picked us up from port and he was lovely and friendly the whole journey about 20 minutes. Also gave some good pointers for podstrana.
On arrival the lady on reception very welcoming and couldn’t do enough for us and we even got a lovely welcome prosecco!
The room was absolutely stunning. Lovely modern decor and spotlessly clean and of course the best bit was the glass panel balcony with the beautiful view. I dont think we left our room all afternoon. Was so lovely to relax in but also catch the sun on our own balcony admiring the view! The bathroom too! Just lovely!
We ate in the restaurant every lunchtime and 2 out of 3 nights. Small menu. But you can see why! It was fresh and so tasty. And also very good value for money! And the waiters...so friendly! I also loved that the manager/owner was around each evening and she would come and ask you about your stay/ if everything was fine, but the best being explaining how the homemade olive oil was made and how she was picking olives earlier that morning. Little touches like that make the experience so much more meaningful.
The only thing we were a-bit disappointed in was that the fine dining terrace restaurant was not open and we were looking forward to that. But L’Aroma restaurant was still delicious!
The pool was nice - more of a plunge pool. We spent a few hours up there one day on one of the large shaded beds. Very comfy! The beach also very nice and convenient. I would recommend beach/sea shoes for swimming!
The hotel also arranged a tour to krka waterfalls. This ran smoothly. We were picked up and dropped off at hotel. Lastly they arranged an airport transfer for us!
Overall this really is a little gem in podstrana. Lovely hotel and it really did have the family feel to it! We felt lovely and relaxed by the end and it truly made our first croatia experience special. I would definitely return here when we travel again through beautiful croatia! Thankyou

Super food. Lovely to be able to sit outside (optional). Outstanding views. Very attentive and friendly staff. Wonderful art on display. Lovely position, with the best swimming spot on Podstrana (in my humble opinion, and I tried a few!). Good access to local buses.

Beautiful hotel with friendly staff

Stayed here for two nights at the end of an island hopping cruise from Dubrovnik to Split.
We were so pleased with the accommodation (double for us and a twin for our two grown up daughters).
Everything was spotless and beautifully designed and all of the staff were so positive and friendly. We would have loved to have stayed a few more nights!

Great experience and hotel

We just completed our honeymoon in Croatia - Hotel Split was an awesome location. Just outside the Old Town (~15 minutes by bus or Uber), it was quiet and romantic. The rooms were clean, and the hotel staff were excellent. We were so impressed by their responsiveness and help with suggestions in the area. Would highly recommend!
