Great hotel in a great location
Reviewed 13 hours ago

We were here over the weekend. Even before getting there the staff were helpful over email for our requests and getting us a reservation at the hotel’s restaurant even though it wasn’t available on the site.
Everyone are nice, the room was great and the location great as well.
Only remark would be that sound proofing isn’t great, we didn’t hear the street but you could hear noises from the hall/adjacent rooms.

Not a 5 star hotel!

First the good.
The location! Centrally located to everything you would want to visit in Madrid. Made it super easy to walk to all the great sights.

The service- lobby staff and waitstaff for breakfast were exceptional. Lobby was all glass, modern and very well appointed. Definitely reflects 5 star service.

Now the bad.
The junior standard room: dark, small, clearly showing the signs of an older hotel. The bathroom was spacious but poorly laid out. Caulking around the floor was peeling. The room opens to the internal courtyard. No natural light. The decor, while nice, was dark. The floors were wood and creaked. The bed was hard and the ridge in between the two beds where they join together (making it a king) rose up and was uncomfortable. This is not a 5 star hotel level room.

Air conditioning- did not work well. The first night we lowered it to the lowest setting and it never got below 76 degrees. I did not sleep much. They sent someone up the next day and said it was fixed. Barely. Cooled down a little but hardly to a sleepable temp. We ended up opening the windows to the courtyard and turning on some white noise to block out the sound so we could sleep. They offered to move us to another room but the hassle factor to move all of our stuff for two more nights wasn’t worth it.

Noise- there is no soundproofing in the rooms. We could hear our neighbors TV and talking. Luckily for us they were pretty quiet otherwise but I can’t imagine if you get unlucky and get louder neighbors. We also heard everything in the hallway. The doors were paper thin.

If you’re looking for luxury and 5 star quality- this is not the hotel for you. The location and service are the only things that saved this hotel from being rated 1 or 2 stars for me.

Excellent stay

We spent two nights at Hotel Urban after a trip to Seville for a wedding. It was a perfect location for a very quick stay in Madrid, easily in walking distance to the Mercato San Miguel, Prado, and El Retiro. We didn't eat in any of the restaurants but had great cocktails in the bar just off the lobby. The room was exceptionally comfortable and turn down service was lovely.

Excellent hotel and stay

The hotel is in a fantastic location. I can't say enough good things about the people that work in the hotel, incredibly helpful, amazing service, excellent food, and very reasonable for the location and quality of the hotel. Clean, comfortable, stylish, and well thought out. What more can you ask for? I will certainly use this hotel when visiting Madrid again.

Great location

Ticked all the right boxes for a short trip to Madrid. Great location, modern, clean and comfortable. Very helpful and friendly staff. Quite odd in terms of theme and interior design but easily overlooked. We chose to eat out for every meal so can't comment on that area.
