Set in a beautiful neoclassical palace in Madrid’s Chamberi neighborhood, this 43-room property combines historic features and a contemporary boutique aesthetic. The guestrooms are decorated with a monochrome color scheme and are kitted out with platform beds, chunky pale wood floors and flat-screen TVs. Each has a small balcony overlooking the city. It’s a short stroll from the Bilbao Metro Station and just two stops from Madrid’s iconic Plaza de España.
In the Area
For an art fix, check out the Prado, the Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza and the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia, which features works by Joan Miró and Juan Gris. For a change of pace head to the Hammam al Andalus Madrid, a candlelit den of hot Arabian baths built atop a century-old well in the Almudena neighborhood. If you’ve come to Spain to eat your bodyweight in tapas, make a beeline for Mercado de San Miguel; it’s full of counters piled high with olives, breads and Spanish hams, and you often get a glass of wine thrown in gratis. Don’t miss the burrata stall.
How to Get There
Really pleased with our stay in this hotel.very helpful staff and immaculate clean room with toiletries for our two night stay.breakfast was very good and staff kept replenishing all dishes.nice bars and cafes n area with short walk to town centre.would definitely stay again.only thing missing is tea and coffee making facilities in room as we like to have a cup last thing at night and first thing morning on waking.
We chose this hotel because it is near where our friends live. It is situated ideally just at the exit of the Bilboa metro station (Madrid) and is near Fuencarral, which is a great street for shopping. However, the hotel was definitely not up to 4-star level. The most important was, there was NO room service! I mean, it is night time and you have a throat ache, no possibility of having some tea. I mean, a kettle in the room would go a long way to deal with these kinds of emergencies but no kettle in the room either. The cleaning lady would leave the sink in the bathroom blocked every single day she came to clean! So we had to learn to unblock the sink (because there is no actual button to unblock it) and do it after her because the first time it took hotel personnel a whole day to come and unblock it! Breakfast was very average for the price they are charging. There were no cheeses except some Philadephia spread and later on some tasteless yellow cheese. The "jamon ibérico" they put out was of bad quality and after a couple of days became so hard, it was not edible any more! The staff on the other hand was quite helpful and welcoming and the rooms had lots of storage space, the shower was great but that is about it.
I’ve spend whole week and was very happy about this stay. Room was rather small (but this was single occupancy and most rooms seem to be bigger) but enough to stay comfortable. I appreciate nice window with street views, good bed and very good wifi connections. It’s close to everywhere in centre on foot and you have two metro stations in very neighborhood.
After a weekend there, we have felt really good at this hotel beautiful, chill, good staff. I would like to especially mention Rafael and thank him for his advice on which restaurants and places to visit. I will repeat the experience
This was a lovely hotel to stay at, very modern and clean. Air con worked a treat and you could perch on the edge of the wee balcony for some sun. Location was great as there is a metro stop right outside and some lovely bars and restaurants local to the hotel. Early check in was available but unfortunately we had to change our departure date but they organised a taxi for us at the crack of dawn!
The only issue we experienced was a slight smell of damp in the bedroom but could not pin down where the smell came from and the beds were twin beds and they had no doubles available - bit of a shame as the rest was pretty good.
