The Lowdown

Medieval mansions, contemporary art galleries and historic squares provide an alluring backdrop for city life in Madrid. It’s a place for art-, history-, food- and party-lovers alike, with a lively energy that rivals other European capitals. Situated right in the center on the bustling Gran Vía, the elegantly restored H10 Villa de la Reina is the perfect base for city exploration.
The beautiful early 20th-century building sits in a hip, vibrant neighborhood, with luxury shops and most of the city’s nightlife right on its doorstep. There’s also easy to access Madrid’s most popular attractions, from the impressive Royal Palace to the historic Plaza de la Paja. Foodies can try out one of the many delis, cafés, gastrobars or restaurants for a taste of Madrid’s gastronomic revolution, while art-lovers can revel in creativity and history at Museo del Prado or Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza.
After soaking up culture at a street festival, taking a stroll through El Retiro Park or eating churros with chocolate after a night enjoying Madrid’s notorious nightlife scene, seek refuge in your spacious, stylish room. With a modern meets tradition vibe, the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence-winning hotel has been restored to a luxurious standard, with a newly refurbished restaurant and bar where you can sit back and relax.

Centrally located hotel for seeing the sights!

This hotel has an old-school charm. Very nice main lobby with bar area for relaxing. Our room was a moderate size with a good size bathroom with a nice shower. There were 2 closets, but no chests for clothing. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. There were also no windows. The staff was pleasant and helpful. They have a very nice breakfast area on the lower level, that served a yummy and hearty assortment of items each morning. We walked all over the city, seeing the sites (our first visit to Madrid), but getting a taxi was easy as well. Gran Via is a VERY busy street, full of shopping and restaurants. The sidewalks are always mobbed. We enjoyed walking in the neighborhood behind the hotel, which was much less crowded, but still had shopping and restaurants. We stayed 4 nights.

Lovely rooms in a great location

Lovely hotel - beautifully decorated. Clean and full of personality and charm, from the original elevator (there is also a modern one) to the tiles there is colour and character. We stayed in room 602 - top floor with a balcony and it was lovely. The housekeeping was also done very well. When we originally booked they could not supply us with the champagne we like (it was our wedding anniversary) however they contacted my wife months later as they had a new supplier and organised the champagne for us. A lovely touch!
Would highly recommend this hotel.

Nice hotel in a perfect spot.

Hotel is very clean. Room size is good for Europe. Breakfast was very good and complete. Staff were very friendly. However, they couldn't help with reserving and local tours. They referred us to a tour comapny near by.
