Overview

11-acre luxury compound overlooking Sarasota Bay, with a private beach club and a spa offering over 100 treatments

The Lowdown

A resort set on 11 acres overlooking Sarasota Bay with all the bells and whistles: think waterfront pool and deck area, three lighted tennis courts, a world-class spa, and Jack Dusty, a popular seafood restaurant. But guests also have access to the private Beach Club on Lido Key, which has its own pool, kids club, restaurant and nightly sunset party. All with an 18-hole championship golf course (that’s the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club, also accessed by free shuttle from the resort) in range.

In the Area

You’re welcome to spend most of your time on the beach (Sarasota is beloved for its sugar-sand shores, after all) or on the links at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club. But if you did you’d be missing all the pleasure that the city of Sarasota offers. First, there’s its colorful past—one of the founding families were the Ringling impresarios who built the horseshoe-shaped pink palatial Ringling Museum of Art in the 1920s. Then there’s its vibrant present as a thriving artists’ center, best seen at Towles Court, a collective of 40 galleries that also hosts a monthly art walk.
