Birthday visit

This is a beautiful hotel with some little old time charm. The staff were very nice, helpful and professional. The view from the lounge on top of the hotel was wonderful, a little sunny but wonderful.

Kicked out of the Pool Area for a wedding!
Reviewed 6 days ago

Has a beautiful rooftop pool and bar. The wife and I booked a room and enjoyed our stay. so we invited friends and went again mainly to enjoy the pool area and view. But this time they decided to throw everyone out of the pool/bar area because they had a wedding planned. They took our money, booted us from the pool so they could make more money for a wedding. Absolutely ridiculous! Sent them an email and no response.

Great Drinks, Spectacular View!!

Whenever we are in the area, we ALWAYS make it a point to stop at the Wyvern and head straight up to the rooftop bar. The staff is always friendly and offer up wonderful suggestions for drinks and tasty food. This gem offers breathtaking views of the entire area and has always been one of our favorite spots to chill for an hour or two..
Don't miss it!
Not so obvious tips: Post up in one of the very cool Cabana areas and contemplate how lucky you are.
If you happen to NOT be driving, order a "Drunken Rum Runner" or two, but remember: you can't "literally" fly...Enjoy!

This place makes me sad!

We visit family twice a year in Punta Gorda. This used to be our favorite place to stay. Unfortunately it is in need of room updates. The carpet is gross and stained. My feet are dirty from walking on it. The bathroom cabinets are cracked and damaged. The refrigerator front is missing. The room is nowhere near as clean as they used to appear. It just looks like a very used hotel. The things you can see as a visitor to this hotel are nice compared to the rooms. They have spent money on the rooftop bar and the restaurant. I don’t know if they ran out of money or what, but replacing the carpet would go a long way. Please don’t let this once fabulous place fall to disrepair.

We spent the first 7 nights at the new Marriott Spring Hill Suites before coming here for our last 2 nights. My advice would be to stay there or the Sheraton 4 Points until this place gets a facelift. Their in season rates are almost $350/ night. Very over priced for what you get

You might as well stay at the Marriott across the street.

they had very limited staff available past 9 pm. the only available drinking water was for purchase and costed $5. the rooftop pool was outdated. the double room beds weren't two queens, rather they are smaller, "full" beds. other than that, the place was clean, had free self parking, and friendly staff (when they were available). they were also pet friendly which was nice.
