How to Get There
We had a great experience and awesome room. Comfortable and clean, amazing bathroom and convenient for us. We did hear noise from bar, not a problem. Carpet needed shampooing but all else was perfect!
There are not enough words to say what a great stay we had! The front desk young lady was sweet and helpful! Our room was to gorgeous on the 5th floor facing downtown! The bathroom was unbelievable! The soaker tub was enjoyed! The bed was extremely comfortable as were the pillows and we especially enjoyed the robes! It is in walking distance to downtown. We enjoyed the downstairs piano bar before we went out! The bartender was great and the guy at the piano was amazing! Did I mention the amazing glass of Cabernet I had??? The next day we went to the roof bar and the bartender up there was wonderful! He was training a new young lady on the bar and we were allowed to be the judge of the few drinks she was making! We paid the Saturday night price but in my opinion and my companions it was worth every penny!
Thank You Wyvern!
We used our master card bonus points for a free Friday night getaway from Ft Myers. We enjoyed the Wyvern so we paid for Saturday night. We had room 304 with 2 double beds. The room was very nice size and extremely clean with a big bathroom and a fantastic shower and tub. Good wifi and TV but neither is important for us on getaway type weekends with lots to do outside. If you want a view get off the couch and go out the door.
All staff are genuinely friendly and accommodating to our requests. We felt at home and very comfortable in this smaller more personable type hotel. They just remodeled the piano bar and it looks good but we didn't take attire suitable for dinner there...next time. The roof top pool and bar is very nice with lots of fun seating and that is the place for a view. Get out of your room and hang out on the roof. We had 1 drink and hit the street.
We took our bicycles and spent our time exploring which is the high point with the location of the Wyvern. It is close to the water, numerous restaurants and the Saturday farmers market. We road and bar hopped until midnight Saturday so you don't have to drink and drive. If you fall off your bike you only hurt yourself rather than run somebody over driving your car after drinking a bit.
We crossed the Peace River bridge both directions and explored Live Oak Point and Laishley Park. If you like bicycling like we do it is a must to take them. The entire water front area is bike friendly with lots of bike paths off the road. You can fish if you want or just sit and enjoy the beautiful Charlotte Harbor and Peace River. Be sure to see the largest Banyan tree I have ever seen in Gilchrist park.
One of the best things about living in SW Florida, besides the weather, is weekend getaways. This weekend trip was the best we have ever had to date and it was only a 40min drive from home in Ft Myers....we will be back!
After arriving yesterday, we get to our room to have NO BATHTUB, their website said all King rooms came with a tub, so when we questioned no tub they said we had a sleeper room. Wtf is that???? I picked SUPERIOR KING WITH A HARBOR VIEW. WE didn't have any harbor view. So they moved us to a room with a tub and a supposedly harbor view, but with an upcharge of course. What a joke, we got the tub but the room was filthy, chipped furniture, dirty chairs, stain on bed skirt, hole in couch cushion, and the harbor view was a half mile away thru a bunch of buildings!!!! Oh and if we looked left, we saw porta Potty and dilapidated building with boards on the windows. Also the huge TV they bragged about was maybe 27". Then we had a 10 year old manager that was or is going to make us pay for the stay!! I'm disputing the charges now and we left
We loved this hotel it was very nice and clean. We loved the roof top pool good was great looking forward in staying again. Planning on visiting again. The roof top menu was a little pricey Bath tun was nice and relaxing. Bed sheets were crisp white and the lobby was clean.
