How to Get There
We must be in the relative dungeon because our room is nothing like the reviews here. We are in the Patio building. No elevator and no one at the front desk told us we would have to carry our bags upstairs. I feel for those who have bad knees or hips. The room itself is tired. The paint is peeling off the vanity in the bathroom, for example. The room is very small for a king room. Also, it is very hot and the air conditioning is poor. For the rates, this room is simply not worth it. Reading the reviews of “spectacularly maintained” and the like makes me wonder where on earth we are. But yep, we’re at the Naples Beach Hotel and Golf Club.
They have a band playing, every Sunday, in the evening. It's a good place to listen to the music, grab a bite at the walk-up bar and enjoy the sunset. It can be very crowded during Feb thru March. Get there early for a good place to plop down. They also have a restaurant adjacent to the bar area but it can get pricey. You do not to be a guest at the hotel to listen to the music. Limited parking spaces but valet parking is available.
Beautiful traditional property, spectacularly maintained and updated. Extremely comfortable ambiance, gracious service without being "stuffy." Our room was in the Watkins building, very nice remodel, beachy feel, lovely balcony, super comfortable beds, bathrooms, nice and quiet! All of the restaurants on property are wonderful, can't say enough about every single staff member, so friendly, professional, helpful. (From the bellman, front desk, coffee shop, beach bar/restaurant, upscale restaurant, housekeeping, everyone excellent!) Very nice pools, "family " and adults only , lovely! Beautiful clean white beach, great walks , seashelling, swimming, best view of the sunsets (nice long wrap around outdoor bar where all sit and view the sunset, great music & applause after the sunsets. We attended the hotel for a conference, the catering was delicious, staff so efficient! Landed in Ft. Meyers airport, rented car, approx. 45 min drive to resort. We used uber to go out ea evening, traffic and parking in Naples very crowded, well worth it! The resort is in a great area to get some walking/running in on sidewalks , surrounded by breathtaking estates. Fabulous Spa and amenities also, great golf course. Can't wait to go back.
This was for the celebration of my moms 90th Birthday!! The whole weekend was special but the Resort and staff could have not been more accommodating. There were 30+ of us so every meal was a challenge but there were plenty of choices for breakfast lunch and dinner. The one night for the party was well put together on the sand beach and made it very festive. The food from the buffet was decent not the best but everybody git plenty to eat. The open bar was well stocked and had plenty of choices.
Rooms were nice and very clean and well appointed
This is our third visit to this old world Florida Resort. truly amazing time. Absolutely the best service & location. Fantastic beachfront room was spectacular. Great Sunset Bar & grounds, pool, everything wonderful. Many staff have worked there for decades. Sad to hear that in the next few years that most if not all will be bulldozed to the ground to make way for new development ( condos, smaller hotel, restaurant??...) I believe that the new owners are working with the Watkins Family to carry on some of the traditions of the place... We were very glad to have been there & sad to say goodbye. if you have an opportunity to visit You Must!
