The one-and two-bedroom suites (complete with kitchens, grills, flatscreen TVs, and balconies) make this property more like 125 beachfront vacation homes than a hotel. Beyond the rooms, the rest of the resort has all the comforts of hotel living: two heated pools, a fitness center, a pool bar for casual lunches, and Coast, an upscale restaurant right on the shore that specializes in local, sustainable seafood, and organic vegetables. And then, of course, there’s the concierge team who can take the work out of planning a vacation, arranging for fishing or scuba tips, concert tickets, or dinner reservations on Naples’ swank Fifth Avenue.
In the Area
An elegant Southwest Florida city set along miles of white sand beaches, Naples, boasts family-friendly fun with the pleasant Naples Zoo and the Sun-n-Fun Lagoon Waterpark, sporting adventures, and myriad opportunities for adventures in shopping, whether on the boutique and restaurant-lined main drag of Fifth Avenue South or in the swanky designer stores of the Waterside Shops at Pelican Bay.
How to Get There
Wonderful beach front setting!! Superior service! Front desk staff of Rheanna & Alyssa were exceptional. I requested a top floor Beach front room and they delivered the best room in the house. Service throughout the hotel was first class from turn down to food service. Every request was meet with a smile.
I booked this hotel because it’s part of the Am Ex Platinum Hotel Collection ... and the price seemed reasonable for being in Naples on the beach. It’s priced like a luxury hotel... but didn’t feel like one. Ie, Upon arrival, there was no one to help me with my luggage or parking (at 9pm).
They DID give me an upgrade to an ocean view, but I was very far from the water still & based on their avails, I know they had oceanfront’s available & COULD have upgraded me, but didn’t. The rate itself was reasonable, but once they added all the extra fees & resort charges, it increased by almost 50%, which is kooky.
The room itself was really good. It’s a large suite with cool nautical decor, a nice balcony, comfortable bed, 2 large TVs and a couch / sofa bed in the living room. The bathroom was a bit small. There’s a full kitchen too.
There were several technical problems which were frustrating: certain switches on the walls effected odd plugs, lights, phones etc. the phones didn’t work properly & woke me up with loud buzzing sounds the first day. the Bluetooth speaker couldn’t be synced, the coffee maker stopped working on day 2 & the WiFi overall was sketchy. They definitely need some tech help.
The food from room service & the restaurant was really bad. I had 2 meals that both were quite terrible!
The pool area was really nice for families (too noisy for me or a peaceful day).
The beach area was nice enough with plenty of lounge chairs, nice towels & helpful service, although I’m not a fan of hotels charging extra for an umbrella (especially when I’m already paying a $35 per night resort fee). I also don’t like when hotels make guests use towel cards... I feel like that adds stress to a guest’s stay - worrying about leaving a towel or losing a card.
I was pleasantly surprised to find a little washer / dryer room with 2 big machines downstairs, & the front desk provided detergent which was helpful.
They serve complimentary coffee in the morning in the lobby (thank goodness since my coffee maker stopped working).. and also afternoon homemade cookies which was cool too.
Parking was included. 😀 and the location was very good. Not walking distance to 5th Ave, but the hotel provides shuttle service apparently.
I thought it was weird that they had Fiji water bottle tags on water that wasn’t Fiji (see pic).
I extended another night to get my plans in order, and asked for 2 more hours to check out- they told me they’d had to charge me half a day rate for the 2 hours - Not very good or smart customer service, but I’ll assume a manager wasn’t consulted.
I would consider staying again only with a great rate, and i’d like to stay in an oceanfront.
Came here with my 8 year old daughter for 8 days. Perfect weather. Perfect 10th floor view of the Gulph. Amazing area. Great food options. Friendly and helpful staff. Just an amazing stay. 100% we shall return.
Our family has been going to Edgewater in Naples for almost seven years for 4 of July, The staff are amazing really nice. the Hotel is nice and well located. But this year I got really disappointed , first The room was huge two bedroom suit but the view you open the balcony and the view was another balcony although you could see in between a little ocean , has and old smell like was closing for month so my husband ask please to change the room with the Naples view that was the original reservation , well Naples view of the street, bedroom had no windows. The Bathroom shower floor was dirty I did not say anything I did not want to look difficult so I bought a bottle of bleach and put it in, so problem solve ( I have picture of that). but what really made my write this was the balcony the metal part was super loose I took a video. when we left I let them know so they can fix it because that it is very dangerous I have a 12 year old so I was worry , we did not wen outside the balcony fortunately the view it was not good so you do not want to be outside looking at the street.
Another thing that we did not like , we know we have to paid a resort fee for beach chair and more, you can no put your own umbrella we knew that so we paid but one couple put their chairs umbrella , a big cooler in front of us nobody said anything until we left and we let them notice I do not know if they told them something I like to save money too but we follow the hotel rules and in top of that well it did not bother me but my husband , we did not know that you can bring your pet too , the dogs were cute and did not make any noise but my husband did not like the hairless cat in the pool area.
Notice I do not think it is a bad hotel but if you go there never take the room with Naples view only if it is too cheap, call first to se what room are you getting because it is no always it is the same as the website show you.
Capt Brian was awesome by the pool side. Always checked on us to make sure we had everything we needed. He set up our chairs, towels, etc as soon as we arrived at the pool and checked on us every 20 min to make sure we were okay. Will definitely return to Edgewater.
