How to Get There
Stayed in White Sands One-Bedroom-
-Staff was SUPER friendly. I never usually say that, but this place was exceptional, especially at Jack's in the morning. They didn't come around too much either at the pool to bother you to buy drinks/food. Housekeeping even started our dishwasher.
-Resort made for families---like a mom went through and thought of everything you would need if you brought your children here. So many things for the kids to do, games in the lobby and near pool area. Movie Night, arcade, lending library.
-Loved not having to think about where to go for breakfast in the morning, luckily it's included in the price. Somewhat variety from day to day. It was good too!
-Loved that the lobby and restaurant had coffee stations! Even though I would have to go down to get it, I'd rather do that than make it myself(which you can in room with provided Pike Place coffee).
-Very nice lanai with super comfy chairs and love that it was SCREENED IN! Stress level down to almost zero with a toddler running around the room.
-One bedrooms are equipped nicely. Full kitchen so we bought food for lunches and a portable "lobster chair" to hook onto the counter-height bar for my toddler. Washer/dryer was a pleasant surprise! You have to buy your own detergent though.
-Staff had the pack-n-play for our 1yo ready before we even got there. It was nice too! Not used and gross.
-Pool/Beach: Pool was PERFECT for small children. Walk-in pool, separated by a waterfall to the opposite deeper end. Nice separate kiddie pool too. Loved we were so close to the beach. Umbrellas and chairs all included. The pool chairs were nice padded chairs. Beach/pool quiet during Spring Break so definitely not party central. NEVER had a problem getting a chair.
-Wrist bands as room key/payment. LOVED this idea. Made our stay super convenient!
-Fast check in-check out.
-Close enough to walk to Times Square. The free tram runs from until 8pm FYI (we didn't know that and waited....) It does have a pick up spot right out front of the resort.
-It's the little upgrades/details that make a difference in your stay and they definitely took notice.
-Beds were not the best... be prepared
-The bedroom itself was very small.
-Resort is definitely worn, slightly dated but they seemed to try and upgrade a little so it's not that bad for a 15yo resort.
-Bar food was not good.
-Drinks seemed too pricey for what you got.
-Seaweed was unfortunate but that's a natural occurrence. Just expect it. --Sand was super soft though :)
We were bumped from another hotel to this one for the same price. It was an upgrade! This is NOT a party hotel. It is North of the pier about a mile. Perfect if you have small children as they have 2 amazing pools for them. No tennis courts, but we did drive each day down the road to a park. The jet ski dolphin tour was super! Chairs, umbrellas, SUP and kayaks are included as well as two breakfast buffets for the daily 37 resort fee. Room was clean and recently updated. I loved that while you could order food and drinks by the pool, no servers were constantly around making you feel like you needed to purchase something. Busy, but it didn't seem to be booked full. Price and the fact that we killed 2 roaches are the reason 4 stars instead of 5.
Wonderful place to stay on Ft. Myers beach. While somewhat over priced the condos are very large and they are very well done! The pictures don't show how very nice they really are. Also the staff and service was great as was the pool and beach area! Very calm ocean and the staff always ensured you could find chairs and umbrellas!
Staff is wonderful amenities are great. Breakfast buffet is overpriced and can't seem to find ripe fruit. Really, I have to write a minimum of 200 characters just to recognize the awesome staff that helped me? Trip advisor sucks.
Wow, what a great week we had! My family (two teenage girls) stayed here over February vacation and what a nice place. We stayed in the Captiva suites and had plenty of room and what a view! The best part was the huge oversized screened porch. We slept every night with the doors wide open just falling asleep to the crashing surf. So nice and what an unexpected treat!
The beach, pools, rooms, restaurants, food including room service was outstanding. The hotel in general was very clean and all staff seemed very friendly and helpful. Getting to the beach was super easy over nice wooden foot bridges. Would highly recommend this resort to families. It is probably the most expensive resort in that area but was worth it if you can swing it. We really lucked out with the weather our week; mid 80's very low humidity, and no rain. What a nice place FMB area is.
Only real complaint is the daily resort fee of almost $40/day. This on top of the daily hotel tax can really inflate the nightly cost of staying there. Drives me crazy when hotels do this as many do these days and it's not just the Pink Shell that does this. Whatever. Still a great place. We'll be back some day.
