How to Get There
We needed a road trip stay a few hours from home. Turned out a great pick. Good size room, very large bathroom, mini frig, coffee pot. Loved the shopping and restaurants at the Promenade. It had good dinning that you can walk to.
I understand they will be updating room decor soon. That will make it even better.
My wife and I first read about Trianon Bonita Bay when we planned a trip last year to SW Florida. We finally booked a room in June 2018, and after a day at the beach, we went to Trianon Bonita Bay to check-in, and then went to the pool. We got drinks at the outdoor bar and restaurant and just relaxed. Everything was great, the room and bed were terrific, and the hotel and grounds are beautiful, like a mini resort, as my wife said. We plan on staying at Trianon anytime we visit Bonita Springs, which is a couple of times a year. Next trip, we’ll try the food (we went to Coconut Jack’s). Thanks!!
Great place to stay. Without all the expensive frills. You can come and go as you please , no problem.
Helpful front desk staff. 12 noon check out.
Large free car park facilities at the front of the hotel.
Spacious Double rooms cleaned daily. The large bathroom a bonus. Kuerig Coffee / Tea machine handy for 'morning tea'...
An excellent fridge for all your cans / drinks / ice packs for your beach cooler included in the room , which was a huge bonus..!!
Pool size adequate for a cooling dip , Hot tub as well.
Poolside furniture was good. Large soft ' cuddle' chairs very pleasant.
Free Poolside towels available from reception.
The 'Lakehouse Bar and Grille' was excellent value. Happy Hour cocktails were a blast...!..Very friendly atmosphere.!
For breakfast - DeRomo's across the way was superb for breakfast bagels and coffee.
All in all a great hotel to stay in without all the expensive additions.
Would recommend anytime.!
The good: The parking is free and mostly shaded which is nice in the hot summer months but will need a car wash after staying here from stuff falling from the trees. The lobby area is nice and the staff was friendly and helpful. The bed was quite comfortable. It is a nice central location. The air conditioner worked quite well, but is quite noisy, but I find that is the case in most hotel rooms.
The bad: Wifi is not great. Usually had to try 3 or 4 times to get connected and got interrupted a few times.
We did not go down to breakfast because it was not free, so cannot comment on that, but coffee in the lobby area would be nice although they provide it in the room (we always bring our own so as long as there is a coffee maker or Keurig in the room we are okay).
We were lucky to get a room with a full balcony that had a small table and chairs, but many of the rooms only have a balcony big enough to stand on. However, the people in the balcony below us were smoking quite heavily and we could not enjoy it. We complained to the front desk as we were afraid we would get charged for smoking in a non-smoking room since the smoke was coming up and making our room smell like smoke. She told us that they had requested a balcony room so they could smoke but were leaving the next day which they did. After that, the balcony was nice except for the mosquitoes which were quite heavy in June.
The carpet was filthy. After taking a shower and walking around the room barefoot for a few hours, the bottoms of our feet were quite dirty and left the wash cloth black after wiping them off. Also there is mold in the shower and under the ledge of the sink. The white tile in the bathroom looked quite clean and at first I thought they had charcoal colored grout, but after looking at the grout under the vanity which was "light gray?" I realized the grout was just dirty.
The door latch was very stiff and we could not close the door without is slamming shut. I like to try to close my door quietly to respect other guests, but that was not possible with this door.
Since we are from out of town and had to eat out, it would have been nice to bring leftovers back to the room to eat later, but there is no microwave in the room.
We hadn't planned on visiting Bonita Springs, but booked this hotel as a last minute stopover between Marco Island and Orlando! What a wonderful surprise! The hotel reception was welcoming and friendly, the room was lovely and the bathroom / toiletries were exquisite! My favourite bathroom of the whole road trip (we were travelling for a month!). We spent the day by the pool - the hotel building and grounds are stunning. The hotel only has a limited breakfast selection, but we did have a thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing lunch at the pool restaurant. For dinner, there are a number of good restaurants just a short walk away. Parking was plentiful and easy. Overall, this was a brilliant find and I hope that we'll be able to return one day! Highly recommended.
