Accounting department overcharged me $2,600
Reviewed 8 hours ago

The pools are nice and the staff is generally wonderful. However, my experience with the accounting department has destroyed my impression of this hotel and of Hyatt. We stayed one night in the Island Suite. The pullout couch was incredibly uncomfortable, and I knew I could not last 5 nights. Vera at the front desk was sympathetic and very helpful and moved my family to two adjoining rooms. The hotel continued to charge me for the Island Suite although we had vacated the room. I have been trying for two solid weeks to rectify this, with emails and phone calls, to no avail. In my decades of traveling, I have never experienced anything like this.

$$$$$ to stay

Only one USB port in the room, no extra electrical-outs near the bed in the room. Plug in the desk was not working well, my charge kept falling out. Resort fee’s 40.00 a day valet 25.00 day. Needed a cup of milk coffee shop charged 4.00 for 8 oz cup of milk. (Hate to see a baby needing milk every day)

Fabulous Resort

The property is just lovely! The restaurants are superb. The resort is a little pricey, but totally worth the cost. My grandson loved the water slides and we both loved the float down the lazy river. My 6 year old grandson made the profound statement, "So this is what heaven is like!"

You won't find a better property or better staff!!!

The staff was so great and a huge reason I would go back! The amenities were equally as nice and fun for all. I would most definitely make a return trip and recommend it for anyone traveling to the area.

We chose this resort based on the amenities they offered, specifically the adult pool, lazy river and their island beach. The facilities here are pretty nice and the rooms are as well. If you get one of the rooms overlooking the water, you have an awesome view. If you end up on the other side of the building, not so much. Breakfast buffet was great and the service in that are was really good.

I think where this resort falls short is in the execution of the details and simple things that they could easily correct. For example, upon check-in and going up to our luxury corner room, we discovered some disgusting gunk all over the carpet at the foot of the bed. We immediately called the front desk. They couldn’t move us (sold out that night) but agreed to move us the next day. Did they offer to send someone to clean the carpet ASAP? Nope. We had to stay in that room for the night with either food, vomit or feces (it was one of the three!) on the carpet! Our other issue over our four day stay had to do with pool area. They have 2 family pools, multiple water slides, a lazy river, and an adult only pool. There are no lifeguards and no staff around the pools. So the kids are left to be (un)supervised by their parents which bought up several safety concerns we observed. Biggest annoyance were parents bringing their kids/infants in diapers into the adult pool and hot tub every day we were there. We were told to alert staff and they would take care of it. Staff only showed up once to address it and the parents harassed all the adults remaining in the pool on their way out!

If they took care of some of the details, this place has the potential to be a winner. In my opinion, Marriott properties just do better with that.
