How to Get There
We arrived at the Hyatt at 10 am. Hyatt has offered a 10 am checkin upgrade via email this week, so I took advantage of that offer. When I got to the check in desk, the young lady told me that they would not be able to honor that and that they would call me when our room was ready. Next, we go to the store to buy sunscreen. The woman working in the shop was on us like glue. My husband was dressed informally for travel comfort & we all felt “profiled”. Then when I logged on to TripAdvisor to right this review, I saw that our rate was around $1,200 less today. I called Hyatt & was told that the hotel said that they could not rate match because we had already checked in. 45 minutes ago. Also, in addition to the $30 resort fee, you now have to pay $16 per day or self parking. We come here every year. This is a first. Canceled a reservation at the Ritz Golf Club because my child loves the pool here. Regretting that decision.
The property was beautiful and the staff was very helpful and professional. The rooms and amenities were excellent. However, food at the lower end restaurant and the pool side cantina was very expensive. Sandwiches, tacos, salads and burgers were $16 to $22. Mixed drinks were $14 and club soda was $4.50. The higher end seafood restaurant was priced accordingly. I was there with my wife for vacation and conference. We spent $150 to $200 per day on food and about 4-5 mixed drinks per person daily which we had at the pool and in the evening. I would give the value 5 stars but food and drink were too expensive. We could have done an all inclusive in Mexico for the same or less.
Very easy to drive to from airport although hotel does provide shuttle. Close to shopping and beach, very nice pool and resort spa services. Multiple restaurants with excellent poolside service. Optional transport to nearby beach provided as well.
This is such a wonderful resort. The pool was amazing and the people were just as great. The room was great and they provided bottled water for free. It's hot in Florida. I was very pleased with the little shop for breakfast that had Starbucks coffee and very good muffins. Just a great place to stay.
The resorts is beautiful and well maintained. However, be aware that the even numbered floor rooms DO NOT HAVE balconies. For us, this was disappointing since our room faced the gulf. We like to sit outside at sunset.
