How to Get There
We spent 2 nights in this hotel and liked it a lot.
The room was luxurious and very comfortable, the bathroom a little bit dated but very clean with tub and large shower.
The hotel is spreading on a large park along the Zambeze river, you san see the steam from the Victoria Falls a little further.
At sunset the view is magnificent and you can hear the hippos that come very close to the deck.
In the park you have giraffes, zebras, impalas and lots of baboons who come making a mess on the balconies.
The staff is very welcoming : they sing and dance at your arrival and very useful.
There is also a beautiful pool.
The restaurant is good, breakfast plentiful.
From the hotel you can walk to the falls on the Zambien side where they are not the best. You have to go across the river to the Zimbabway side to see them. You can walk as we did but I would recommend taking a taxi.
We really liked that place and I highly recommend it.
The hospitality was amazing and real! To Towela and the amazingly talented and happy people who sang and danced to greet us: Thank you for giving us such a treasured experience. Henry and Benjamin were very helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable about whatever we may have needed, and happily showed up just at the right moment!
There are many excursions such as river boat trips or helicopter views of the falls. The townspeople were all friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable making it a very meaningful visit.
we had the pleasure to meet you at the opening celebration of the new Spa facilities during our recent stay at the Royal Livingston. We congratulated you not only for your marvelous idea to relocate them to the Sambesi river front, but even more so for having the responsibiliy managing this iconic hotel at an unsurpassable location.
However, your outstanding and utmost friendly staff must make it easy for you to take on this challenge. We certainly did not meet all of them but those we were in touch with were always competent and helpful, and above all truly friendly by heart, not by training.
The two people we want to specially mention and address directly since we enjoyed most of their attention for our well-being , were
> BETTY our Room Butler: Betty many thanks for your thoughtful endeavours to make us feel at home !
> DOBRASOVSKY ( hope the spelling is right ) our Waiter for Dinner: Dobra.... thanks for serving the excellent food from Gerhards superb kitchen in an elegant way and the many humorous but also well- grounded instances of conversation with you!
To Laurie again: We came as guests and left as friends, thanks to you and your entire staff! We wish you all the best and hope to stay again in the Royal Lingston.
