A calm quiet hotel hidden away in the Galle Fort
Reviewed 1 week ago

My wife and I stayed here for one night. From the entrance which is the verandah of the hotel you feel a sense of serenity. The hotel's old wing is housed in a building that is over 200 years. We stayed at the porcelain suite. Once you walk in the center of attraction is the swimming pool which is welcoming on a warm sunny day. The staff are friendly and would do everything possible to make your stay comfortable. I think the no TV's in the room compels you to relax, by reading a book or there is always free WiFi to stay in touch. One of the few hotels that has a turn down service while you are at dinner. The food was ala carte which ensures that it was not a eating marathon that happens at a buffet.
The architecture is something that would amaze you.

Stunning, Perfect hotel

It's very hard to put into words what an incredible experience Galle Fort Hotel was to us. From the luxuriously stunning rooms, the warm and thoughtful staff, the quick service and fantastic food, Galle Fort Hotel is the closest to perfect of any hotel we have stayed at.

We had our wedding there and from the start to the end, and at every step in between the hotel - and especially Dennam - was reliable and responsive to our questions and needs. Planning a big event like a wedding is supposed to be stressful, especially from another country, but that was never the case for us. Even when our florist fell through, Dennam managed to find us someone literally two days before our wedding and even found a contact to arrange our lights. These big details helped us have our wedding, but it was the small gestures from Galle Fort Hotel that made it a such a phenomenally beautiful and perfect day, and we cannot thank them enough for it.

Beautiful tranquil hotel

My friends and I spent a night at the Galle Fort hotel which was a lovely property. The rooms were nice and clean and the pool was a highlight. It’s a small hotel so your proximity to other guests can be an issue - lots of couples etc. lovely service and location.

Beautiful Dinner
Reviewed 2 months ago

After being in Sri Lanka for over a week, we arrived in Galle & found the Galle Fort Hotel for dinner. According to my teenage son, it was the best pork ribs he had ever eaten..( I didn’t take that personally 🤣)... All of our meals were beautiful & we even extended ourselves to have dessert. Quality of the food was brilliant & great value for money.
Mixed salad 600rp
Twice cooked chicken thigh 1200rp
Green garden salad 500rp
Pork ribs 2500rp
Brownie 700rp
Caramel tart 700rp
We sat outside on the balcony so had some shelter and a lovely view of the historical hotel.

Lovely small hotel but very dark rooms, poor storage
Reviewed 2 months ago

Ideally located centrally within the Fort at Galle, this is an old house that has been beautifully renovated. The public rooms and pool are lovely, the food is good and the staff are helpful. Two friendly cats around in outdoor areas. We had a 2-storey "loft" suite. Bed very comfortable, certainly quiet, AC worked well, but we found our room very DARK (no good bedside lights), and although the room was large, it was somewhat lacking in storage.
