How to Get There
SHINAGAWA Beach by Asia Leisure.
My husband & I had a 2 night 3 day all inclusive stay at Shinagawa in Balapitiya, Sri Lanka. It was a family fun trip and this little 28 room Boutique-style Beach Resort provided all that & more from Friday 17th to Sunday 19th May 2019.
93 km from Colombo, it took us about one & a half hours on the Southern Expressway to get to the hotel. We had 3 Deluxe rooms reserved for our family with a beautiful view of the Indian Ocean of the Southwest of Sri Lanka.
Our room 120 had all that we needed from safety locker to bathrobes to most importantly comfortable beds with clean and soft linen. There was free WiFi. However, the television channels are limited. Then again, how much time does one spend in the room watching TV when there's a beautiful half-shaded pool & a vast ocean out there with sandy beaches?
From the moment of entering the premises, we were treated with friendly & quick service. The Manager Mr. Kasun was always moving around and was quick to attend to anything amiss so that the guests were absolutely happy. The service from Housekeeping to Servers was hard to fault. The Food & Beverages department was really excellent in the preparation of what was available/Menu.
On Friday, the guests were few; but come Saturday the rooms were all occupied. The car park was really not big enough for all the vehicles that were coming in with guests. I'm not surprised. It is a very reasonably priced hotel where families with little ones could really chill out. I would definitely go there again & again.
I hope Shinagawa will continue to maintain high standards and wish prosperity to all the dedicated staff.

Ishara and amith.
We stayed at Shinagawa for 4 days. Madhu, who checked us in, was very pleasant and she set the stage for our very good experience overall. Best part of the hotel is location with an excellent and almost exclusive beach front. The pool is also well located and though small, adequate to relax after a sea bath. Food was excellent. Rooms are beginning to look and feel a bit tired so a do-over will be good. Overall, definitely a place we'd revisit.
A group of 10 of us spent the weekend at Shinagawa. The hotel has a fantastic beach area with almost a private beach due to a rocky outcrop which has created a mini bay. Being off season, we never expected to be able to swim but it was extremely calm and we had a fantastic sea swim. This is due to this mini bay that has been created. Most of the other beaches in this area are not safe to swim in. The food was what shocked us the most. It was fantastic. From the breakfast to the Nasi Goreng to the fresh grilled prawns. All of them were delicious. The rooms had a tremendous view of the Indian ocean and we are already planning to head back soon.
