Boutique Hamptons hotspot that's hosted Robert DeNiro, with a daytime pool and nighttime lounge
Celebrity lawyer Mark Geragos has repped everyone from Ke$ha to Winona to Diddy, but he doesn’t need to make a case for the hotel he owns in Southampton—the glamorous getaway speaks for itself. Purchased by the owners of W South Beach and Montauk’s Surf Lodge, Capri is a boutique stay with a major dose of style, from its 1950s-inspired yellow-and-white-striped awning to the L’Occitane shea butter bath amenities in its room and suites. The hotel lifestyle is just as fashionable, oriented around a poolside lounge set among well-manicured hedges, with chaises and daybeds for sunbathers. In case all that’s not fabulous enough, the property has also hosted both Howard Stern and Robert de Niro, who knows a thing or two about nice hotels. Best of all, it brings the nightlife of the surrounding Hamptons hamlet, home to such clubs as 1OAK, to you. After dark on weekends, the aforementioned Bathing Club becomes the backdrop for a giant dance party, where you can break it down to the jams of the evening’s DJ and sip fruity cocktails under the stars—or, as we prefer to call it, pass Geragos’ bar exam. As in many Hamptons hotels, weekends here are characterized by fabulous parties by the pool – be sure to bring earplugs if you came to catch some sleep. Please note that men are politely asked to refrain from wearing denim shorts.
In the Area
Voted the best village in the Hamptons by Business Insider, Southampton is known for its shopping scene, as well as its celebrity residents and their gorgeous oceanfront mansions. It’s home to Cooper’s Beach, a stretch of pristine Atlantic shoreline that’s popular among the region’s well-heeled residents and their young children, who come wielding sandcastle molds and buckets of beach toys. It’s also a nightlife capital and just a short drive from all the other Hamptons hamlets, which means that as a Capri guest, you’ll have no trouble getting to the cutest local farmstands or buzziest restaurants.
