I've been there a week ago with my family member. Room was spacious and clean. It feels little bit old but well organized. Breakfast was really good and there were a lot of things to eat. But the best part of this hotel is fantastic service of the staffs. All of them can speak English and always helped us when we need some help. highly recommend this hotel.

I have never stayed in a hotel where the hotel staff try harder to accommodate their guests. Everyone from the chamber maids who allow you an extra water bottle and another coffee pod to the staff at the buffet making sure no one eats foods they may have allergies to. Conveniently located at the base of Mt Namsan the Grand Ambassador is a great place to explore the busy city while also roaming quietly through the wooded stream lined paths around the mountian. Regardless of your purpose for visiting Seoul the Grand Ambassador has it all. Within minutes of everything you would need and a friendly staff to help make it happen.

They really look after guests. Classy hotel.

It was our first time in Korea and this was the second hotel we booked for our 10-day stay. From the moment we arrived we did not need to touch our luggage as the hotel's guest relations service is top notch. The 'welcomers' were excellent and they made us feel very welcomed indeed!
Location: Good location with only a 5 min walk to nearest Metro station- Dongguk University stop. There were not as many eateries or street food vendors around as our previous hotel but if you don't mind taking a short 10 - 15 min walk you will end up at the famous Gwangjang market. If you don't like walking then the hotel provides free shuttle bus services to Insadong, Dongdaemun, Gwangjang market and Myeongdong street market.
Room: Classy decor, good for business travellers as the Business Executive room comes with a big desk and power sockets. They even provide chargers for iPhone and Android smartphones. Only issue (again) is that in Korea hotels routinely turn off the air conditioning to all the rooms once autumn comes along, even tho it was not that cold outside, 26 Celcius. I found the room to be too warm with no circulation and the window only opens a fraction. Beds are super comfortable. Bathroom is spacious and shower has EXCELLENT water pressure.
Service: Staff are top notch, as expected for a hotel of this reputation. When we spoke to the front desk about the a/c situation they apologized that we were not finding our room comfortable and then they upgraded us to a bigger room on the executive floor with a cooler room that had it's own a/c unit. From the cleaners to the gentleman who presses the elevator buttons for us everyday, everyone in this hotel are star employees. Staff are multi-lingual and are only happy to help with anything. On another night our a/c stopped working entirely. One call and a staff member turned up at the door with an engineer within 5 mins!!
Amenities: Everything you could want from a 5-star hotel is here, including a pillow menu should you decide the ones on your bed don't quite meet your needs. Nespresso machine. Access to Executive lounge for those who book exec rooms. Indoor pool, jacuzzi, spa. Expensive and fancy restaurants that serve amazing buffet food. Valet service.
Value for $$ : This hotel is truly a great place to stay. It really is the attention to detail and the little things that made this stay with the Grand Ambassador so memorable. It is pricey but you get what you pay for, with all the bells and whistles. All transactions with the staff were seamless. I highly recommend the Grand Ambassador and will seriously consider staying here again on my next visit to Seoul. Thank you for making our visit to Korea that much better.
