Positive, but...

I had all in all a positive stay at BT in Seoul but there are a series of minor downfalls I have encountered during my stay.
Be aware that if you get a room with pool, you might have to face issues related to the temperature and humidity of your room. I tried to test the AC with different temperatures but it nothing changed. I guess it is one of those situations where the temperature is preset and the AC is just there to maintain that temperature, but nothing else. Classic placebo effect. For me was not such a big problem as i am not that picky.
No way to control the water temperature of the in room pool. I read this in other reviews and yes, this can be a little annoying too. Not a big deal as well, you can go the classic way and just add cold/hot water to regulate the temperature, but just be aware that somehow, later, it will go back to 36.5/37 celsius.
I found quite odd that I had to pay almost 700,000 KRW for a room per night and I still had to pay 30,000 per person to access the outdoor pool. Obviously I did not go as it was quite overcrowded and not worth it, but as I said, I find quite "stingy" such thing. I guess the hotel wants to make extra money by allowing the access of daytime visitors (non guests) who will have to pay 60,000 per person. I guess this is not the way to treat your paying customers.
Maintenance could have been better. 700,000 per night and furniture is all chipped and looking not very nice. There is no need to change anything, but you could probably re-paint those parts that shows clear signs of decay. This easy and quick action could save you some negative reviews.
Breakfast was all okay, quite small spread and normal quality. I do not have much to say. But it is somehow good as there might be a lot of waste of food if the spread would be higher and the occupancy rate is lower in low season.
I did not have a big interaction with hotel staff apart from check-in and breakfast, but I guess everything worked quite well. I have also used the futsal court and was nice to have such a facility in the hotel. Enjoyed a complimentary 2h there and I just had to book via email a week in advance.
Location was quite good. You can enjoy the isolation and tranquility of the area and forget about the fast paced city environment. If you don't have your own transportation, you can also come and go by bus. The stop is just at the beginning of the private access road of the hotel and from there it is a short walk uphill to the main building. Taxi obviously will take you there too, but by taxi, you will get directly to the entrance, no walk needed.
All in all was a positive experience and I would probably come back again. Maybe the hotel mgmt could have some more eye for detail and fix some little flaws to improve (or keep) their reputation and image. It is also good to care about daytime visitors as they might represent a good source of income, but I would appreciate if I would be given priority as a hotel guest over the other hotel facilities users

You will pay for the price of the very high end hotels but will get motel quality of service. Whatever you ask, you will ask 5 times to get what you need. Worst part was when we put the “do not disturb” sign to take a nap, they call your room and ask, “sir, I saw the do not disturb sign, when can I go clean your room?” .... they don’t know what do not disturb sign means? Furnitures are chipped as well. Massage is the only thing that was worth of paying.

Amazing beyond expectations

This is a true 5 start hotel, compering to other hotels rated with 5 stars i would rate banyan Tree Club as 7 stars. The hotel and the entire facilities are top notch. the rooms are supper clean and including everything you can think of. The service is like nowhere to be found, every request is answered instantly and with a smile. the staff will go above and beyond to satisfy all your needs. I personally never came across such a level of professional service.
