Perfect Playford!

We absolutely LOVED this hotel. The preliminary contact was prompt and very helpful. An easy taxi drive from the airport, saw us at the beautiful foyer - first impressions always stay with you. A distinctive Art Deco, uniquely charming style, with mood lighting set around an eclectic array of couches, chairs and tables for casual drinks or light meals. In fact, 'our' hotel foyer became the meeting hub for our colleagues who were staying at different venues for a 3 day conference. All of whom commented how wonderful The Playford was. A perfect CBD location too with easy access to cafes restaurants, the business district, and public transport.
The front desk staff were extremely welcoming, efficient, and allowed us to check in at 11:00am as our rooms were ready. (This rarely happens). Our rooms were just as delightfully decorated as downstairs. Spacious, spotlessly clean, with a huge and comfortable bed, lovely decor, gorgeous bathroom with the most fabulous mirror. Wonderful water pressure and quality bathroom products. A pillow menu was provided alongside many other features - we wanted for nothing. The rooms were also very quiet.
We used the spa and pool - again, lovely surrounds and next to an excellent gym.
Everywhere were little nooks with plush seating for quiet conversations or places to relax. The bar was an especially lovely area to retire to after a long day, or to meet for coffee in the morning. Again, interesting and delightful decor that invites you to linger.
Special mention to Ebony and her crew of bar staff who were super friendly and lots of fun on the evening of the 14/7 (sorry we didn't get all your names). And the concierge (Matthew??) on the morning of 17/7 who was amazingly accommodating - even weighing our luggage to ensure we weren't over our limit.
Special thanks also to your cleaning staff - the hotel was pristine in every area and they were very friendly as we were leaving our rooms each morning.
The Playford has a very different atmosphere to the other hotels in the CBD that we saw - it has a welcoming, with an almost old-world and very sophisticated charm that sets it apart. It is also independently owned, which is lovely in this day and age of chain hotels. We would HIGHLY recommend staying here.

Perfect, just what we were after.

What made our stay so brilliant were the extremely well trained staff. Management have absolutely got it right with how they have trained their staff. I often find these more expensive hotels the staff are often snotty and try to belittle me to come across as super posh. But EVERY staff member we came across was AMAZING. They were friendly, accommodating, they made us feel as though we belonged there and they seemed genuinely excited for us that this was our get away. From the front desk, to the cleaning staff, they were lovely and THIS WILL ABSOLUTELY MAKE ME RETURN.
We spent one night (early check in and late check out). It was my two daughters and myself having a girls night (aged 7 and 8). We spent most of our time in the 1.25m deep pool which is heated, the spa and watching movies. Room service were efficient and could not be faulted. The room was comfortable and very clean and I thought quite modern and beautifully decorated. The gym is very well equipped and our room had a coffee pod machines which was complimentary.

City night away

Yet another great night at the Playford, they never disappoint us. Great room, amazingly comfortable bed, delicious breakfast. Treated myself to the Fruchoc cocktail which was divine. The staff are always so friendly and accomodating.
