How to Get There
We were due to stay in 2 x oceanfront rooms.
The welcome ceremony was beautiful, then you receive a tea infused cool towel - you instantly feel as though you have arrived in paradise.
We were bundled in a golf cart, where unbeknown to us we had been upgraded to two villas.
The villas are SPECTACULAR. Well designed and beautifully decorated. The bathrooms are huge, with big bath and large rainfall shower head. Sheer luxury to have a private plunge pool, that we used for hours.
The buffet breakfast and dinner had amazing selection of food, both fresh and tasty.
The main pool is beautiful - split level. It is long enough to do laps early in the morning before it gets busy.
There are great facilities - we played tennis, pool and table tennis.
Unfortunately we were there when the Sri Lankan bombing occurred - my only criticism was that there was no guidance given by the management. If you wanted information, you needed to ask. As we checked out there was a display announcing The day of mourning. It would have been comforting to have similar information during this period to keep us informed.
It is a beautiful hotel with friendly and efficient staff - certainly a holiday that I will remember forever.
Thoughtfully-designed resort with views of the beach and huge waves from almost everywhere. Large pool with loungers for everyone. More loungers directly on the beach. (not a safe swimming beach). Free yoga classes several times per day. Enjoyed our massages at the spa.
Rooms have balconies, many with sea views. Surprisingly large library with good selection of books. Interesting birds on the large property. Walking distance to good dining "outside" the resort but beware you will be on a busy road out there (road not visible from resort). Only downside is the prices for food & beverage, as you might expect, which is why we took a couple of meals outside!
We have recently returned from a great family holiday at Anantara Peace Haven. The hotel rooms, restaurants, swimming pools and other facilities were great and we were made to feel very welcome by the entire team. We went on the really interesting Nature Walk around the resort which we would highly recommend - saw some fantastic animals and learnt a lot. Sayuri was our friendly and smiling hostess for which nothing was too much trouble. She was always on hand to assist us and made our stay very relaxing and enjoyable. Finally, my children would never forgive me if I did not mention the surfing - thanks Steve for helping to teach them and giving them such a great surfing experience. Highly recommend staying at this wonderful resort.
Beautiful private beach location - great buffet breakfast- service (thanks Jeeva) and wide variety of dishes - great restaurant staff- good yoga at 730am and Pilates 3pm sessions - there’s gym and games room as well as tennis court - very relaxing library space - perhaps. Ore books and newspapers and magazines required- more knowledge req. fr staff - perhaps a snack shop would be beneficial-
We have just returned from trip to Anantara Peace Haven amazing hotel. We arrived to a lovely welcome as soon as we stepped out of the car.The scenery is breathtaking fabulous wildlife all around you.
Every member of staff on this complex is outstanding special mention to our waiters Darshana and Asila who where outstanding every night what lovely young men they are nothing was to much trouble for them.
We stayed in garden villa 623 very private compared to some of the villas. Our Butler Isaru kept in touch every day by WhatsApp making sure we had everything we needed. He even arranged a birthday cake on my birthday,as well as booking our trips for us .
The food in journeys restaurant is outstanding you don’t really need to dine any where else .we had dinner in IL mare one night which was lovely I cannot find fault with anything in this hotel the journey from airport takes 3 and half hours but is so worth it .I hope the recent troubles doesn’t put people off travelling to this wonderful country and their people we where there on the day bombs went off and they looked after us even giving us a blessing on departure I hope to be back some day as this was the best Anantara hotel we have stayed in well done to all the staff
