How to Get There
The Anantara lived up to our expectations, it’s a beautiful hotel and the setting on the Indian Ocean is stunning. The attention to detail was great & we were helped throughout our stay by Isuru who booked restaurants for us in the hotel and organised our safari to Yala - thankyou!
Situated in the south of Sri Lanka, this hotel is probably one of the best I have ever stayed in.It is quite a long journey from the airport to the hotel (about 3.5 hours) but the journey was made really excellent by the hotel transfer, which included a lovely picnic for us both, as well as stops along the way. I would recommend arranging a hotel transfer when booking.
In every respect this is truly a world class hotel of unparalleled quality. From the traditional Sri Lankan welcome to our departure 4 days later we were treated to the most exquisite service in all respects. Our room was exceptionally well equipped with every need catered for. The balcony view through palm trees and over the ocean was perfect. Room service was attentive without being intrusive, and any requests were met with efficiency and a truly pleasant manner. Our villa host Tharanga was utterly attentive and helpful, being available on WhatsApp for quick service - a very innovative use of technology!
The spa was amazing and a day of pampering would be well spent.
Although there are other restaurants on site, we dined in Il Mare restaurant each night because different buffets were provided each day, from Barbecue to Asian, offering a truly incredible range of food for all tastes.
The concierge Sagara arranged our trips with efficiency and was most approachable. A big thank you to him for ensuring we had a great guide at Yala National Park.
The infinity pool is a place of genuine relaxation with poolside service provided.
Ross Saunders, General Manager should be congratulated on managing this hotel with efficiency and charm.
I would recommend this hotel without reservation. I can honestly say that it was one of the most enjoyable and unforgettable holidays I have ever had.
Private luxury . Professional and attentive service . Sayuri looked after our family so well , many thanks ! Anantara scores great with this wonderful resort with its wonderful beach and beautiful pools. Rooms are well appointed and well maintained with sprawling grounds . Friendly and helpful staff make for a great holiday experience .
We stayed at the Anantara Peace Haven for 3 nights in December as a beach retreat after a week further North.
It’s a very large luxurious resort. As you’d expect, everything is immaculate from the rooms themselves to the communal areas, and the facilities (pool, spa, gym, games room, etc.) are superb. The beach areas are superb as well, but the surf makes the little stretch immediately in front of the hotel unsafe for swimming.
It has a cute little cottage garden area, where organic herbs and vegetables are grown for the restaurant - recommended for a stroll.
The staff are friendly and helpful.
We were disappointed at the limited choice of local foods in the restaurants, which are also incredibly expensive. We found it much more pleasant to hunt out authentic restaurants in the village.
Perfect 5star hotel in a perfect location. Staying there is wonderfull with our family. High service! The italian restaurant was The best! Rooms were very nice and clean. With The privat beach iT was a dream!
