How to Get There
After exiting the airport, an individual from the hotel greeted us. We boarded the hotel's BMW where the driver took us to the hotel. Upon arrival at the hotel, the hotel front desk clerk was waiting to open the door of the vehicle and escorted us to the hotel's front desk check in counter where he checked us in. He spoke very well and acted very professional. First class service. Our beautiful hotel room was huge. Beautiful hotel with first class service. Although I was not granted late check out, I still contend that I received first class service in a first class hotel.
Had 170+ leadership at the Shangri La at the Fort for our annual kickoff meeting. They arrived from around the globe. The meeting space (ballroom) was nice. They had an events team office which was right around the corner, very accessible and nice. The hotel overall was nice. Not anything over the top. But nice. The hotel rooms were spacious with plenty of drawer space and comfortable bed. I like the bathroom. But why isn't there ever an electrical outlet in the bathroom (other than for shavers)?! Had to use my curling iron in the hall. But other than that the bathroom was bright, large and clean.
The staff at the hotel was very accommodating and very helpful. They went out of the way to make sure we had everything needed for a successful meeting. Out contact even went out to purchase a special computer plug that was needed and the AV company did not have.
My only disappointment was the food. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't great. I felt like the same things were being served on our dinner buffets every night. If you went to the restaurants and ate -the food was excellent! But when served during our event, buffet style the food was lacking a bit.
Overall this property is nice. The staff are excellent. I would look for another hotel that had more of a "wow" factor next time though.
Smooth Check in, Elegant property down to the tiny details of the spacious room with the enjoyable view of the area, bathroom was big, complete and no leaks and everything seemed clean (even the carpet under the bed). Service is top notch, staff were all very helpful and friendly. Their turndown service and cleanliness is not something that we always experience in other hotels that claims to be 5star. The facilities and amenities were all classy from the spacious gym where we some local celebrities go to, and a big playground with a really big slide to suit all of your kids needs. The surrounding area is near malls, restaurants, bars and convenience store right accross the street. The breakfast and our room service were all lovely and delicious. Truly a 5 star hotel that gave us a 5 star experience.
Recebt experience during a company event this February 2019. The hotel service is really one of the best. The hotel staff are very accomodating and really helpgul. The food is the best. I love everything that they serve. From am snack, lunch and pm snack . Sulit never i felt that they are just serving us just because we are hotel guest its like that attitude is their culture. Thank you Shangri-la and keep it up.
Spent a few days before returning home at the Shangri-La at the Fort. We previously stayed at the residences but this time were only able to avail of adjoining rooms - a deluxe room adjacent to a suite. The look and feel of this hotel is grand yet inviting. The rooms are large and spacious. The suite was beautifully decorated with all the requisite amenities of a 5-star hotel. It was impeccably clean. The nice touches, like fruits, water and welcome cards were all beautifully placed and arranged. The other deluxe room was however a bit disappointing in that it didn't have a coffee maker like the Nespresso machine that was present in the suite. It merely had a hot pot with packets of instant coffee. This was certainly below the standards of a 5-star hotel. The padding on the bed could also have been a bit more plush. When compared to the suite, the deluxe room had a stench of cigarette smoke. As someone very sensitive to cigarette smoke, the odor was quite off-putting and required the AC to be turned on high with high fan to mask the smell. Otherwise a great hotel and wonderful place to stay while in BGC.
