It’s almost always sunny at East Bay Resort, a brand-new luxury property set among an aquatic sanctuary in one of the world’s most sought-after islands, and the retreat is well aware of the generally cooperative weather conditions. As a guest here, you’ll be welcome to borrow a kayak or paddle board, as well as snorkel gear, or dive to the depths of the Caribbean Sea and see the famous underwater wall. Adrenaline junkie? Throw caution to the tradewinds, and try kite surfing. Deep-sea fishing and hovercraft tours are also on offer.
And when it comes time to take it easy, the award-winning beaches (a one-mile stretch of the protected Cockburn Harbor National Park), just steps away from your guestroom, are a more intimate side of paradise. The oceanfront pool is its own peaceful sanctuary, with a swim-up bar, light fare and loungers with a view. There’s also surf-’n’-turf BLU Restaurant, where you can order a seafood dish, enjoy the stunning vistas, breathe in the salty sea air and listen to the crashing waves – East Bay’s a resort for all senses, as well as all seasons.
Accommodations at East Bay Resort each showcase modern décor and plush bedding, with a cable TV and a spacious bathroom. In the suites, you’ll enjoy a contemporary living space, full kitchen and large balcony as well. Beachfront suites are 592 roomy square feet, whereas the One Bedroom suites up the ante with 688 square feet for you to stretch out in. For even more space and incredible ocean views, opt for the Two Bedroom Corner Beachfront suite.
BLU Restaurant offers delicious cuisine, from breakfast to dinner, and stunning ocean views. A diverse surf-and-turf menu features dishes like white-tiger prawns poached in mango frond, lobster fettucine and chocolate-amaretto mousse. For poolside bar snacks, Splash (a reference to an ancient mermaid allegedly spotted by pirates visiting the island) serves light fare, like a tasty grilled-vegetable sandwich and ciabatta caprese.
An eight-and-a-half-square-mile plot of land that’s home to just 900 people, South Caicos is one of the most beautiful islands within the Turks and Caicos. Known for its perfect beaches, abundant sea life, magnificent diving, fresh seafood, rich history and reputation as the nation’s fishing capital, this tropical retreat is a dream for anyone yearning for paradise. The destination has plenty to see and do along its crystal-clear waters and among its protected wildlife, including water sports like snorkeling and kayaking, as well as beach-bumming on the sandy shores.
How to Get There
I am not one for island vacations, though been to a few. East Bay Resort in South Caicos exceeded my expectations of what R&R should look like. The resort is beautiful, built seconds away from the bluest beach I have ever seen. The suites are spacious and boast all the amenities you have at home. The island is incredibly safe to check out a few local restaurants, I recommend Triple J's, jerk ribs and chicken - yum!
The staff at the resort make you feel like all your needs will be met. From Diana at breakfast to Sabrina at the pool side bar, to Calvano at the restaurant bar; I was all smiles because of them.
Manager Bert is always around with a smile to ensure that you have everything. Even the maintenance gentlemen referred to my by name (sorry cannot remember his name :() Chef Ian is always out of the kitchen taking feedback, and the sri Lankan chef makes a delicious curry- on the menu at the resort- give it a taste
If you haven't visited this resort, definitely add it to your list, go on the resort planned snorkeling tour.
I for one cannot wait to go back again.
Have you ever been to a place that you feel is just beyond words? You feel that nothing could ever top that or come close? But then you go back year after year... and this beautiful island with the beautiful beach and resort exceed your expectations each time. It seems unreal. When I step off that plane AKA the puddle jumper from the island of Providenciales to the small island of South Caicos and I see Jeremiah waiting for us at the airport .. I know that I’m home. My husband and I discovered this just opened brand new resort back in March of 2016. That was our first visit.. we have come every year since. So this was our 4th time here and I still pinch myself when I arrive..
I see Jeremiah’s smiling face and he drives us to the resort which is about 5 minutes away. As he passes places..he fills you in on the history and his love for the place. If you need something .. he’s that guy who will know who to call. This is a very remote island so come prepared. You can’t just run to the souvenir shop or pick up hairspray etc..there’s no retail stores here. They have local “ grocery” stores that’ll have some soda’s , some veggies, boxed and canned goods. Be sure to check the expiration dates though. The hotel lobby now carries hats, T-shirts, suntan lotion and tooth brushes.
When you first enter the hotel lobby and are warmly greeted by Marva holding a cool washcloth and glass of rum punch. And Bert the General Manager you think. Is this real .. am I really back here in paradise ?? One thing that I have to mention is.. my husband and I are in the majority as far as guests of the resort .. there are a lot of repeat customers. It seems that once people discover this place .. they keep coming back over and over. Nothing else compares. We have been all over the Caribbean to many places. We always swore that we’d never go to an island more than once..because there’s just too many places to see. But once we came here . Nothing else in our eyes would ever live up to this.
I feel torn writing these reviews .. because I do feel this place is magical and idyllic .. and I’d like to be selfish and keep this place a secret. But that’s not fair to the owner of East Bay.. Cherif. Or any of the hardworking staff that deserve the accolades. From Lincoln the beach guy who can see an eagle ray coming from a mile away. He knows a lot about the water, beach, history. He’ll set you up with paddle boards, kayaks, snorkeling. Keeton and the other captains who will take you out on the boat showing you that best places to snorkel ( provide you with the gear) take you out to see the starfish and Long Cay Island. The snorkel tour we’ve done every year for a fee of $300 for 2 people or $100/person with a minimum of 4 people .. up to 12 people. ( FYI .. just so you know .. even if you have 12 people. It’s still $100 per person).
I feel the price of what you pay for this trip is priceless.
The boat leaves right from resort’s beautiful beach. The beach goes on for about a mile .. its quiet and secluded!! Sometimes there’s no one on that beach .. you may be the only ones ! Except for lots of fish that you can see right in front of you .. the water is as clear as a pool and felt like bath water this past week. You’ll see lots of eagle rays swimming by.. and other fish because everything is so untouched . You can walk a g 1/4 mile and still see your feet. Go around whale migrating season and you’ll be treated to whales breaching right out in front of the resort.
If you wander up to the pool bar and Calvano is working .. ask him to make his famous Island refreshing mixed drink called the “the Calvano” it’s vodka, ginger ale, lemon, lime, mint. It’s the perfect Island drink.
I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention the lovely morning waitress Diana who is in the dining room at breakfast with a big smile.
They recently changed the breakfast menu from a buffet to ordering directly off the menu which is included in your hotel stay. Eggs anyway you like! Omelettes, pancakes , waffles plus a table of help yourself juices, fruit, bagels and THE best banana bread.
Also East Bay has a very talented Sous Chef named Chamara who’s from Sri Lanka and is one of the nicest guys ever. It seems like every year that we go on vacation here. We meet people who are truly special. This place seems to draw the nicest people who not only work there but vacation there. And if you don’t believe me. Go and experience it for yourselves. You will not regret it.

I can’t say enough good things about East Bay Resort! This is our 3rd year back because we love it so much. If you are looking for serenity; beautiful, caring people; and the most amazing beach in the world - look no further!
The friendly and attentive staff: Bert, Marvra, Jeremiah, Diana, Lincoln, Fioreliz, Chamara (the amazing Sous Chef!) are all wonderful as well.
The resort is kept very clean and well maintained. Shuttles are available to and from South Caicos airport, as well as local restaurants daily. The resort restaurant has a wonderful selection of local favorites, as well as traditional foods.
Paddle boards, kayaks and bicycles are available and free to use. Breakfast is included as well!
You will need to book a flight from the main island (Providenciales) to South Caicos through Intercarribean.
Check out local favorites- Sunset Cafe (Darren is awesome!) food is fantastic! Also check out Triple J’s (Serrano makes the best ribs, jerk chicken and pork!)
East Bay Resort and South Caicos now feels like our home away from home! We will be back next year!

East Bay was all around amazing. The layout of the resort makes every condo ocean front! The condo was very spacious and had 1.5 baths. The beach was UNFORGETTABLE!!! The sand was like powdered sugar and cool to the touch, I've never experienced sand that amazing at another island. The Caribbean sea is gentle (no big waves or tide) and crystal clear. The staff at the resort are so sweet, they make the experience even that much better. Jeremiah picked us up at the airport and shuttled us a few places and was delightful. Bert is always present at the resort and mingling with guests making sure you have everything you need. Diana at the restaurant is super sweet. Lincoln is so fun to talk to down at the beach hut where you get towels, snorkel equip etc. Be sure if you go to East Bay that you go on the Long Cay Snorkel tour with Willis, it was by far the highlight of our trip. Willis was so sweet, taught us about the island and fish, and made sure we got good pictures to remember. When you go out on the boat the water is a blue unlike anything I've seen....definitely go!! Overall it was just an amazing trip. We ventured up to the other resort on the north end of the island for a day and were so glad we were at East Bay. The beach was much better in my opinion at East Bay.
I really cant say enough good things about our stay here, it was wonderful!! It is a little isolated island with a small population of locals. I have never felt safer ANYWHERE we have been. It is literally a hidden little piece of paradise where you feel like you are on a private beach.
South Caicos was a wonderful peaceful getaway. The resort has great views of some of the most beautiful clear water I have seen anywhere in the world. The staff, from the GM Bert to the beach attendant Lincoln go above and beyond to help all of the guests. Highly recommend this resort and island.
