It’s almost always sunny at East Bay Resort, a brand-new luxury property set among an aquatic sanctuary in one of the world’s most sought-after islands, and the retreat is well aware of the generally cooperative weather conditions. As a guest here, you’ll be welcome to borrow a kayak or paddle board, as well as snorkel gear, or dive to the depths of the Caribbean Sea and see the famous underwater wall. Adrenaline junkie? Throw caution to the tradewinds, and try kite surfing. Deep-sea fishing and hovercraft tours are also on offer.
And when it comes time to take it easy, the award-winning beaches (a one-mile stretch of the protected Cockburn Harbor National Park), just steps away from your guestroom, are a more intimate side of paradise. The oceanfront pool is its own peaceful sanctuary, with a swim-up bar, light fare and loungers with a view. There’s also surf-’n’-turf BLU Restaurant, where you can order a seafood dish, enjoy the stunning vistas, breathe in the salty sea air and listen to the crashing waves – East Bay’s a resort for all senses, as well as all seasons.
Accommodations at East Bay Resort each showcase modern décor and plush bedding, with a cable TV and a spacious bathroom. In the suites, you’ll enjoy a contemporary living space, full kitchen and large balcony as well. Beachfront suites are 592 roomy square feet, whereas the One Bedroom suites up the ante with 688 square feet for you to stretch out in. For even more space and incredible ocean views, opt for the Two Bedroom Corner Beachfront suite.
BLU Restaurant offers delicious cuisine, from breakfast to dinner, and stunning ocean views. A diverse surf-and-turf menu features dishes like white-tiger prawns poached in mango frond, lobster fettucine and chocolate-amaretto mousse. For poolside bar snacks, Splash (a reference to an ancient mermaid allegedly spotted by pirates visiting the island) serves light fare, like a tasty grilled-vegetable sandwich and ciabatta caprese.
An eight-and-a-half-square-mile plot of land that’s home to just 900 people, South Caicos is one of the most beautiful islands within the Turks and Caicos. Known for its perfect beaches, abundant sea life, magnificent diving, fresh seafood, rich history and reputation as the nation’s fishing capital, this tropical retreat is a dream for anyone yearning for paradise. The destination has plenty to see and do along its crystal-clear waters and among its protected wildlife, including water sports like snorkeling and kayaking, as well as beach-bumming on the sandy shores.
How to Get There
Views of sunrise and sunset. The island was hit hard by back to back hurricanes in sept 2017. So Island in restoration. Beach right on resort. Half of the resort rooms not complete. New resort so suites new. Lots of beach to walk. Very quiet. Awesome food on resort. Tours on resort awesome. Free bicycles could use some upkeep. The free kayaks use was awesome. Overall a great vacation.
My son and I had the perfect trip. He had explored South Caicos before and wanted to return. I had visited many Caribbean resorts in the past and there is a sameness to many of them. East Bay is unique and I hope it stays that way. The resort has fully integrated the island and its friendly people into the resort. You feel like an honored guest and the stay was one of the most relaxing vacations I have had in years.
Kudos to Bert Nowak ans his staff, including Jeremiah, Kira, Yzadora and Keathon. And the new chef is excellent.
I have nothing but fantastic things to say about this beautiful resort and wonderful Island. The people (Jeremiah, Connor, Angelo, Lincoln, Keethan, Ian, Burt) were so nice, it was hit and devastated by the 2016 hurricanes, but the people of the Island have such a great positive outlook. It is a very quiet resort and low key...Food-Excellent. Drinks-Outstanding. Services-Phenomenal. Views-Exceptional! The fishing is great. Snorkeling is good too. My wife and I have travelled all over the Carribean, and our entire family fell in love with this place. I’m sure we will be back in the future!
The only complaint I will make is I haven’t rebooked another trip 😎🙃🤩
My husband and I stayed 5 nights in late January and had a fantastic week! It was a slow week at the hotel but the staff was amazing! Connor and Jeremiah especially went out of their way to make us feel at home, and were our unofficial tour guides for the week, which made our experience extra special.
We had a stunning ocean view from our room, but the room itself could use some touch-ups. The couch and chairs need cleaning and our towels had some holes in them. But with the great view, you probably won't notice. :)
East Bay Resort was fantastic! The staff treated us like family the entire stay. Everything was clean and well kept and the food was absolutely delicious. Connor made amazing drinks all week! My family and I enjoyed the beauty of the ocean and making new friends with Ian, Connor, Bert, Jeremiah, Diana, Kethan, and so many more! We will definitely be coming back and encourage anyone and everyone to stay at East Bay!
