Luxurious suites, an award-winning spa, and an emphasis on service make this beachfront resort a stand-out option in the Caribbean

The Lowdown

A six-acre stretch on Anguilla’s Shoal Bay East is the glorious white-sand-and-turquoise-water setting for the first luxury resort on this end of the island. Zemi has the advantage of pristine beaches and fabulous sea views, and the luxury of the 69 rooms and suites encourages some serious lounging. The resort’s design was nominally inspired by the indigenous Arawak people—there are dark wood accents and sand-colored stone everywhere—although the best feature of the spacious and comfortable rooms is the light filtering through the floor-to-ceiling glass doors that lead to the balcony, which illuminates the soft neutral palette. The high-quality, cushioned rattan furniture on the spacious balconies (every room has one) is another perk, perfect for reading a book, napping, or staring out to sea. The resort has an award-winning spa, where Anguilla’s only hammam is built in a 300-year-old Thai house, and two restaurants, plus a sand-floored cocktail bar and a tasting room that specializes in single-origin rums.

In the Area

With the resort’s fabulous pools and spectacular patch of beach, you’d be forgiven for never leaving, but there’s still plenty to do nearby. There are boat excursions to other islands like St. Barts, snorkeling around the coral reef and other water sports organized by the Shoal Bay Beach Club, plus hiking trails that span the island. Stroll down the beach to Gwen’s Reggae Bar and Grill, a beach bar known for Caribbean staples like barbecued ribs, best washed down by a rum punch. History buff? Check out nearby archeological sites such as Big Spring and Fountain Caverns, home to remnants of ancient Taino groups, or learn more about Anguilla’s history at the Heritage Collection Museum.

Amazing stay - caters to all your needs
Reviewed 1 day ago

Zemi offers a great relaxing time. The shared areas with pools are well kept, the staff are incredibly friendly - anticipating your needs to bring water, sunscreen, towels, anything you may want. The manager gave us a tour on the first day that was very informative. The rooms are large and well appointed. It is well worth a stay. The Wednesday BBQ is fun. There is no reason to leave. The beach at Shoal Bay is amazing as well with clear blue waters.

I don’t think that words can describe The Zemi. It is actually pure paradise. Heaven on earth.
The Hotel facilities are incredible. You have amazing pools and the beech is one of the bests I ever seen. I think that what make the zemi so special is the staff. They all so amazing and caring. Starting Denis at the front desk that welcoming you with pure joy and a smile to Mark the manager in charge, who was absolutely amazing. That was my second time at the Zemi and absolutely not the last… don’t miss the Wednesday Caribbean BBQ it’s the best.
I think that the crew making all the different.. And the Zemi Crew is the best without any doubt.

Simply Amazing!

We arrived at Zemi with high expectations but were blown away by what we found. The resort itself is amazing. They take you on a tour of the resort at check in to get you acquainted with the property. The room was extremely nice and had everything you could need. My wife and I's luggage was lost so she used the complimentary flip flops for the first few days. We were fighting with American Airlines to get our luggage to SXM airport so we could ferry over and pick it up. The staff knew we lost our luggage and asked us if we had been able to locate it yet. We told them we were hoping it was on a plane landing at 1:00. They took down the description of the bags and sent someone to SXM to pick up our luggage and bring to us. Amazing service! I cant say enough about the staff and how terrific they were. Then there is Shoal Bay! My wife and I have visited a different Caribbean island for the last 7 years and Shoal bay edged out white bay for our favorite beach. It is just a fantastic beach with beach bars within walking distance. At the price point you will not find a better property on the island! Trust me and book a stay.

Honeymoon in Paradise

My Husband and I recently Honeymooned in Anguilla's wonderful and spectacular Zemi Beach Resort. The only bad thing I have to say is that we weren't able to stay longer with them. The staff, the food, the ocean, the grounds, and the service, were absolutely impeccable and beyond anything we expected for our very relaxing and secluded time away after our Wedding Season. We have always lived in New York and are constantly on the go and needed time to decompress after our nuptials. Zemi Beach and their staff took care of everything. There was never a time when we were not taken care of to the best of their ability. Lisa, Kishma, and Alicia went above and beyond to make our stay special!. The pool, bar and beach staff became faces we looked forward to seeing each morning and the rooms were always welcoming to come back to. We had turned down service every night which came with fresh cookies and water. We wondered if we should explore the Island a bit more, but never wanted to leave the resort and its beautiful surrondings. We will most definitely be back in the very near future and look forward to spending our time again with the wonderful staff and management at Zemi beach.
