How to Get There
It's a beautiful property. The room was great, the people were nice, especially the lounge staff and concierge who shipped my Pliny, but I'm pulling my hair out trying to understand why it takes 4 separate phone calls to explain why I was double-billed for my stay. I booked it on the 26th of October, paid the non-refundable amount up front. Then on November 3rd, which I checked out, they billed my credit card the exact same amount I paid when I booked it. I didn't realize it until my statement came. The first person I spoke to saw what I was talking about, said she completely understood the mistake, I'd see a refund in 4 to 5 days. 3 weeks later, no refund. So I call again and explain it. And again. And again. I still haven't gotten the full refund. We're not arguing about incidental charges while I was there, those I happily paid for. I really want to give them a great review, but I don't understand why this is hard for them to understand.
We stayed at the hotel one evening during a company event that I hosted. The catered food was very pricey and when served were 1/4 the quantities that you would receive at any other facility local to the area. Even though we had appetizers and a 4 course meal, many of us left the event hungry and in fact ended up at the taco truck across the street. Also, at end of the evening, our guests felt rushed to leave the event room at exactly 11 pm and the people clearing just started taking away tableclothes etc... way to fast and in advance of the 11 pm deadline. It made people feel like we were in their way.
This is our 3rd stay at the Fairmont. From the moment you arrive to the time you depart, it is superb. The grounds are beautiful, the service is excellent. The doors automatically open as you arrive, someone was standing at the door to greet us with sparkling champagne. Check in was a breeze. Lupita, the concierge was very friendly and helpful. I can't say enough about the property. Great location as well. Would definitely recommend.
We hadn't been back in 21yrs. It looks the same since the last time. But, the historical rooms had been remolded nicely. The rooms are small but adequate. The bathroom was good sized. They have bicycles to ride for 2hrs. at no cost. Love the hot temperatures in the pools they have 93 and 98 degrees. Vice nice Spa with plenty of attendants to help you figure out what to do next. They have evening wine tasting. We where there during Thanksgiving weekend and it was very busy. They have a nice work out room. Only a couple of miles into town to look at the shops. The grounds of the hotel where will kept.. The 3 night special they where offering was reasonably priced. The Thanksgiving Dinner was good but expensive. No charge for the self parking. The valet was very helpful. Because it was raining they provided umbrellas.
Perfect location to visit the Californian wine country! My Family and I had Lunch at the 38º NORTH LOUNGE, Service was great and food Awesome, they serve the best Tomato/Burrata Salad. The fire place in the Lobby is so relaxing and romantic!
Everyone is friendly and welcoming, Max at the Concierge desk is super awesome, he gave us an amazing tour of the property and great recommendation. The Spa is amazing, huge and so relaxing!!!!!! Definitely Returning soon :)
