The all-day casual Nectar restaurant serves Asian and Western food, while the glamorous Halo rooftop lounge serves hand-crafted cocktails and inspired Spanish tapas.
In the Area
There’s major retail therapy to be had at the malls and flagships on Orchard Road. To further explore Singapore’s off duty side, head to Sentosa island, known for it’s golf, beach clubs, and family-centered activities, or take in the island nation’s colonial history in the posh area around Dempsey Hill, known for its traditional black and white mansions. The nearby Singapore Botanic Gardens are filled to the brim with orchids, tropical plants, and locals taking a breather in the shade.
How to Get There
We came off a safari and cruise and decided to stay in Singapore for a couple of days. This was our 1st trip and selected the Wangz based on room space, location and just guts. It turned out to be a great choice!. The staff made us feel welcome, the room spacious and quite well appointed. The hotel boarders Chinatown and was a block from the hop on/hop off bus pickup point. BTW, HO/HO is the best was to see this incredible city. Our package included a "continental" breakfast, which was wonderful including dim sum, fresh made eggs, lattes, espresso and pretty much what ever you could want. I'd like to specifically call our Bryan on the front desk, he took care of us and made us feel like family!
This is just a gem of a place.
Bryan at the front desk is so helpful with things like directions and use of public transit!
The phone provided was a godsend for us (early 60’s) who know how to take advantage of it (google maps while touring) but don’t have data while away.
They have public transit cards that you can use (that may still have money on them), which is so helpful, as they are so easy to top up.
Our driver from the airport said he hadn’t taken anyone to this hotel in 5 years; don’t miss out like so many must have!
Can’t say enough about our very positive experience.
Friendly staff and good breakfast. But my room was on the second floor and had to keep the curtains closed because people look right into your room. Also 3 signs in the room that advice you to do this for privacy. Also very big bathroom, but miniature sink with no space to put toiletry. Shower head is broken so water hosing everywhere.
Very noisy with traffic and trucks passing the alley. Would recommend you spend more for a better hotel. Not worth the money. View from the restaurant is nice.
No hassle in checking in. The Superior room size is ok. Interior design is modern and sleek. Very comfortable feel. Breakfast serve at the terrace!!!Nice view, nice eggs offerings. Didn't try the hotel restaurant. There many choices of cafés, restaurants & local food eateries nearby. Very convenient. Staff is generally friendly and cheerful. Do chill out at the rooftop bar after a hectic day schedule. Excellent view.
Stayed here for a period of 4 nights during a week stay in Singapore. The hotel is in a good location close to both the MRT (Outram Park) and buses. Basically you can go anywhere using the MRT. The room and bathroom are big, clean with good quality amenities. In your room there is a handy available to use it for your stay in the city ( very helpful if you come from Europe for example and you don t want to pay huge fees for internet). There are also free drinks available in the room .The breakfast has everything you need to get you going for the day : fresh fruits, cold meats ,cheese and typical Asian food. Also eggs cooked to order. The staff is very attentive, polite and willing to help. A good stay in a wonderful city full of color. I would definitely come back here given the opportunity.
