Set in an sculptural building with shiny aluminum cladding and asymmetrical windows, this 41-room boutique hotel offers individually decorated rooms with a hip nature theme—think Pop Arty flower prints and vine-patterned wallpapers. They come with rain showers that have city views, Molton Brown toiletries and plush bathrobes, plus some free beverages in their minibars. The all-day casual Nectar restaurant serves Asian and Western food, while the glamorous Halo rooftop lounge serves hand-crafted cocktails and inspired Spanish tapas.
In the Area
There’s major retail therapy to be had at the malls and flagships on Orchard Road. To further explore Singapore’s off duty side, head to Sentosa island, known for it’s golf, beach clubs, and family-centered activities, or take in the island nation’s colonial history in the posh area around Dempsey Hill, known for its traditional black and white mansions. The nearby Singapore Botanic Gardens are filled to the brim with orchids, tropical plants, and locals taking a breather in the shade.
How to Get There
After endless search’s for a suitable hotel during our 4 day stay in Singapore we opted for this hotel. We chose well and can highly recommend it, it may appear far from the city but given Singapore’s fantastic public and taxi system, airport transfer was only approx 18 SPD, and taxi trips into the city 8/10 SPD.
We arrived very late but we still welcomed by professional attentive staff.
We could not fault any thing during our visit, not a top notch 5++ star hotel, but your certainly treated as a valued guest rather than another face walking through the lobby.
I’d highly recommend that you take the guided local tour during the early part of your stay as your shown local restaurants and bars, which may encourage you from not visiting the bustling city.
Fantastic hotel. Huge bathroom with a bathtub and “rain” shower. Staff is fantastic! Location for us was good. MTR station is about 5 minute walk. But if you don’t feel like walking, taxis are cheap. Taxi to airport 35minutes from door to door only SGD $20. Very good value for the money!
This little gem is really well situated close enough to everything but still out in suburbia. 5 minutes walk to the nearest MRT station allows you get out and about with little to no drama.
I stayed here with my mother, and found the room big enough for the two of us. The bathroom in our room had a full length window, which doesn't give much privacy, but to be honest, on the 5th floor, there aren't many people who can see you. WiFi was available, but didn't use it as we both had a local sim card with 100GB each. But when we did use it on occasion it was reliable.
The complimentary buffet breakfast, while small, was a great way to start the day. Provide your choice of eggs and they cook it to order. It is a Western spread, but there are also some local options. For a hotel restaurant the food was very surprising, with some of the best food we had while in Singapore. The chef here knows how to cook - get the mushroom soup at night and you know what I mean.
The hotel seems to be well known by most Grab drivers, and is easily accessible via a little side street which you access the underground lobby car park.
Overall, if I came back to Singapore I would happily stay here again.
We visited Wangz for two nights at the end of a long trip, celebrating our silver wedding anniversary. The hotel went out of its way to make our visit special, with an upgrade and bottle of sparkling wine on ice. The room was great value for money, spacious and well designed ( though an absence of hooks for wet towels and robes). Whilst not right in the centre, it is a short walk from the MRT and only 10 mins from all attractions. However, it was the little touches, like the loan of EZ link passes, the handyphone with free calls, including back to the UK, and the free soft drinks in the mini bar which really helped to elevate the experience. Would highly recommend.
Stayed here for 8 nights having noted the consistently good Trip Adviser reviews over the last few months. The hotel is only about 15 minutes walk to Outram MRT station from where you can easily get to anywhere on this outstanding transport system including the airport. Rooms are comfortable with everything you need with free drinks replenished daily in the room fridge. The breakfast room has limited seating space when busy and the buffet breakfast area itself is quite small but both are perfectly adequate to get your day off to a good start IMO. The hotel is located near a busy road so there is some traffic noise but this should not be a problem after a busy day sightseeing unless you are a very light sleeper. Finally, all of the staff and the service provided by this hotel are absolutely outstanding. Given the location and value offered The Wangz is worthy of its good ratings.
