Built in 1928, the Fullerton Building was once Singapore’s General Post Office and the center of its commercial and social life. The grand Palladian-style property is still a hub for business and leisure travelers, with a storied past plus modern technology and amenities. The varied dining options include Jade, an upscale Chinese restaurant, and Town, which covers cuisine from the rest of the world and serves an elaborate Sunday brunch. The bars are stylish, and the Spa Artisan delivers traditional Asian therapies with a modern touch, in a garden setting that references the rich history of Singapore and the hotel itself.
In the Area
To explore Singapore’s off duty side, head to Sentosa Island, known for its golf courses, beach clubs, and family-centered activities, or take in the island nation’s colonial history in the posh area around offbeat shopping district Dempsey Hill, known for its traditional black and white mansions. The nearby Singapore Botanic Gardens are filled to the brim with orchids, tropical plants, and locals taking a breather in the shade. Get your bearings with a cruise aboard a bumboat, the sturdy, low-slung vessel that once transported freight. An hour-long tour winds along the Singapore River past skyscrapers, colonial landmarks, and shophouses.
How to Get There
The food was outstanding, we weren’t sure exactly what to order as we ordered off the non set menu. My dad had the crab which melted his face, my vegetable dumplings were to die for. Grace and Yvonne were wonderful in helping us choose our meals and were amazingly attentive. The best Chinese meal we’re EVER had. I also want the wallpaper and beautiful plates. Omg nearly forgot the hand made mother bird and babies table decoration made from sugar! Wow.
First time visiting the restaurant with my loved one, and I was pleasantly surprised by the wide range of food available.
Not to mention, the service provided by the staff was awesomely good!
Special thanks to the staff, Josh, Steve, Hope, Lilian, Wei Lin and Jeyanthi for making my 27th birthday celebration a great and enjoyable one! 😊
