How to Get There
We were at happy hour for complimentary drinks and canapés. I asked a staff, Melissa, if they had ginger tea as I was feeling bloated; I said I would be happy to pay for it but they didn’t have it in the hotel at all. We sat outdoors and were talking when 15 mins later, Melissa comes over and passes me a cup of ginger tea which she bought from nearby the hotel and a hand written card! Very thankful and also amazed by the awesome service! Thanks Melissa :)
Separately, they also gave my husband a complimentary cupcake as it was his birthday!
Those who have stayed in Singapore know how expensive hotel rooms can be. Oasia Downtown provides excellent value for money in a terrific location (we paid $SG232 per night - DEC 2018). We only stayed for one night as we were transiting through Singapore. The room we had was a superior room on the 20th floor. Luggage porters greet you on the ground floor. You have to go to the 12th floor for reception but the lifts are quick and it wasn't a hassle. As others have mentioned the water temperature in the shower was difficult to maintain but it wasn't a major problem. The room and bed were comfortable and if you're looking for value for money this is a great place to stay. It's only a 10 minute walk to China town and Lau Pa Sat (satay street).
TIP - the bar fridge is behind a wooden panel adjacent to the bathroom door (which I discovered as we were leaving the room).
Beautiful hotel but even better and amazing hotel personnel everywhere. Highly recommend this hotel and also a great downtown location. The concierge staff were always there to make recommendations for restaurants and sightseeing as well as calling cabs and letting you know what the fare should be. The club level pool area was nice and quiet and the restaurant staff were friendly and great service
On our roundtrip in South-East Asia we stayed at Osia downtown for two nights. It was a very unique experience due to its modern architecture and friendly staff. We booked a club room and were given a stylish room on the 23th floor with a spectacular view over the city. As club guests we enjoyed snacks and some gin tonic during happy hour where our lovely hosts Isnawati and Sam took great care of us. The location is perfect - nearby to the MRT station Tanjong Pagar. Another great thing about this hotel is a smartphone with internet connection in the room which you can take with you while wandering around Singapore. If you are looking for something special, whether for a holiday or a business trip, Oasia Downton won't disappoint you.
I must say this is probably one of the best hotels that I have stayed in Singapore in recent times. From the point of checking in until checking out, the services rendered by the front office crew is spotless!
The lobby is located on the 12th floor with an open grassy area which gives the hotel an eco-feeling which is pretty nice in a city of tall buildings. Rooms were very good - bed, pillows, amenities provided were all satisfactory. The water pressure and water temperature could have been a little bit better, a bit low and the hot and cold water is intermittent. However, it is not a deal-breaker.
The hotel is located quite near to the Tg Pagar MRT station, eateries are abundance around the corner and Chinatown is about 10 mins walk away. Parking is also provided on site and it is complementary.
