A mini-city within the city of Singapore, the Fairmont occupies two soaring towers with 769 rooms and suites. Rooms range from standard doubles in white and beige to more lavish rooms with purple accents and details inspired by Singapore’s Straits Chinese heritage; all come with balconies. The spa is one of the most extensive in Asia, with 32 treatment rooms, abundant water and relaxation areas, and a treatment menu that ranges from a sea thalasso kur (bath) to Kerstin Florian caviar facials.
In the Area
Retail therapy is serious business in Singapore, and the hotel is located right in the heart of the shopping districts. The mile-long Orchard Road, with its vast array of retail outlets and mega malls, is about a five-minute train ride away. More offbeat shopping can be found in Kampong Glam‘s Arab Street, where merchants sell camel skin bags, cloisonné boxes, and colorful fabric. Chinatown is home to great, inexpensive restaurants, especially at the Smith Street Hawker Centre.
How to Get There
The room was clean and spacious. With a great view of the Bay Area.
The service and staff were very friendly and helpful too.
With a lengthy stay the gym and pool facilities were very good.
The location is a few minutes from the MRT underground and there are restaurants and bars on your doorstep.
From check in to check out we were treated royally, comment about the room 604, perfect just perfect but for the lack of a view. But this is Singapore, the city of high rise buildings.
All of the staff were very attentive and caring, we stayed over for 4 days and enjoyed every moment.
Due to refurbishment on the south tower their was some noise during day and the pool was not really relaxing so we did not use it. Scaffolding everywhere and lots of noise.
We had a late flight and they offer a courtesy lounge with tea, coffee together with shower.
The hotel is very central to most things being no more than a 10 minute cab ride, oh there is an enormous shopping mall next door. You can shop and eat until you drop and never see daylight if that is your thing.
Breakfast can be a little challenging, very busy at times. It offers a comprehensive buffet covering all options, however the counter is quite long from pancakes one end to the egg station at the other. Be prepared to walk!
Great experience for my facial treatment at the willow stream spa. I enjoyed my stay and feel rested as the room was nicely kept with a fantastic view. Love the champagne at antidote, although they could provide more varieties on the bubbles and the whiskey. Overall it was a good experience.
Well appointed hotel. Everything that should be there was there. Checkin was efficient. Staff polite and helpful. The rooms were recently renovated so very nice. Bathroom fully accesorized. I had some trouble with the shower though. The shower knobs were so smooth that I could not turn on the water after my hands were soapy. After the first experience, left the water running while soaping, which wastes water.
We’re currently staying here at The Fairmont on the 18th floor and we can see why the hotel is in the middle being refurbished. Our room is large and lovely but everything else is dated.
The breakfast is not 5* - it’s a 3* Benidorm buffet.
The pool area is small. There’s no staff to help with towels or sunbefs. Again, I’ve awarded this area just three stars.
Staff are friendly and kind.
