How to Get There
I like this hotel because it is clean and the staff is very quick in responding to our requests. The room my brother's gf and I stayed is fine but if you want spacious rooms I suggest you look for another place. If you're just here to sleep and shower then this is a good place. They gave a shuttle that takes you to the nearest train station and it leaves on time so you can plan your itinerary with no issues or worries about not getting to the MRT on time. The restaurant is a Halal restaurant so don't expect bacon in the morning. The guy who cooks fresh eggs in the buffet is very lazy, and hides the sign that says you can choose many types of omellets so he only cooks sunny side up. When guests call his attention he pretends not to hear us and makes us feel like we're asking for eggs for free. Everything is fine except for the egg chef.
My husband and I wanted a weekend staycation and chose Days as it is near our favourite restaurant. Bad decision!
We walked in at 7pm, and expected the check-in to go smoothly, given that it was 5 hours since the official check-in time. Instead, we were told that our room (with the balcony) isn't ready and we need to choose another room type because the guest's flight was delayed! The check-in time is 2pm, so what would have happened if I had actually checked in at 2pm?
I asked exactly that question and the front desk associate tried to explain again the room is not cleaned yet as the guest's flight was delayed (I heard you the first time round!), so told her that they were 5 hours late and she didn't need to explain further. A couple of phone calls later, she managed to find the same room type in less than 5 mins! So why the drama?
Anyway, we dropped off our things in the room and went for dinner. When we came back, and while I was getting the bed ready, I found ants crawling on the bed! Nevertheless, I just swept them off the bed.
Then while sitting on the side of the bed, I felt a light sting at the back of my calf. I stood up and tried to identify what bit me, unfortunately, I couldn't find the cause.
Next, I went on to browse the inhouse movies channel. Chose one and it indicated we have to pay for it. Now, my reservations clearly stated that I have free movies. So I called the "service centre" with the information and was asked to go to the reception. So at llpm, I had to go down to the reception. There I was asked to forward my reservations to the hotel manager. Fine - it was only a few clicks (though it really made me wonder why they wouldn't have the reservations details in the first place).
Anyway, I was told that they will call me back in 10-15 mins, so I went back to the room. They called in 5 mins and told me that they will honour the deal since it was in the reservations. I thought that was great service recovery. Alas, I was too quick with the compliments. As soon as I chose to "pay" for the movie, it failed. Tried a few more times with different movies, same results. So I had to call the" service centre" again.
They sent a technician up in about 15-20mins. After checking and rebooting the TV/set-top, and even rebooting the entire room's power, he decided that there was an issue with the power socket for the TV/set-top. He said he will be back with a power extender. He came back and another 15 mins later, and at 10 mins past midnight, all was for naught as we were told that he needs to get the power sockets replaced, etc. We told him forget it and he can do that after we check-out tomorrow.
I am at Days as I write this review, at 3am in the morning. This proves how super frustrated and disappointed I am. I am pretty sure I will get some "standard customer service responses" but surely you can do better than that. For SGD200 a night, you are expensive but no better than a low budget hotel if you cannot guarantee a guest's reservation, basic services and cleaniless, and most importantly, satisfaction on all the customers touchpoints.
With clean linen and shuttle service going to the MRT station. Staff are accommodating and able to serve their customers well. PLs avoid letting their customers to sleep at the lobby. It is not a nice scenery for other customers.
Hotel and staff is good but rooms are tiny and no space to walk. no Indian hotels in the locality and need to go little india which is 7 to 8$ in cab. Handy phone and shuttle service to MRT is good.
we got early check in which was impressive and hotel do not have swimming pool.
Overall had a good stay during my business trip. Breakfast was nice. Housekeeping kept the room clean. Receptionist Nicole was very curtious, speaks good english, helpful and always smiling. Good staff. Will definitely come back and stay on my next business trip. Thank you Days and Nicole for making my stay a pleasant one. Keep it up!
