How to Get There
Beautiful hotel in a nice quiet area. Close walk by the river to city, markets, and pub street. Wonderful staff. Very clean and safe. Great food and service in the bar and restaurant. Interesting menu, great quality, lots of choices.
A great place to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner and in the afternoon lounge in the pool with happy hour from 4pm-6pm and enjoy the local brew or cocktails - buy one get one free. A great place to be in Siem Reap and close to night markets and city centre.
This was my second stay at Shinta Mani Shack (the less expensive of the Bensley properties) having stayed there last August and want to say how fantastic it is.
Every aspect is spot on.
The rooms are spacious with good quality fixtures, a nice walk-in shower and bathroom. The pool area is lovely and was quite under used during my stay never more than a couple of people in. The breakfast has a nice range of buffet items and hot to order. Kroya restaurant has some amazing dishes (try the mango seafood salad!)
Location is good walkable into town if not too hot but $2 max tuk tuk if feeling a little lazy.
The staff are amazing! Special mention to Tim and Tom who remembered me from my visit last year and welcomed me like an old friend. All the staff are friendly, helpful and make the stay so relaxing, from the breakfast and restaurant staff, those in reception and cleaners. A great stay looking forward to returning.
During our Vietnam/Cambodia trip. The main reason - the staff who are friendly, welcoming, helpful, efficient and kind. The hotel looks a bit nondescript from the outside but, as soon as you step inside you are enveloped in a family friendly atmosphere. Every time we arrived at the hotel we were given a refreshing wet towel, which we jokingly called a spring roll! Our room was on the ground floor with a small patio and direct access to the lovely pool. On the two occasions when we had time in our busy schedule to use the pool we were offered cold water, fresh fruit and on one memorable occasion a free 10 minute head and shoulder massage. Breakfast was delicious with lots of home made, healthy options (granola, yoghurt, nuts and seeds for example) and the eggs benedict were to die for. We picked up a tuc tuc from outside of the hotel which took us to the vibrant night market - a must see when you are here. We ate at the night market on both evenings and just soaked up the atmosphere. This is definitely a hotel I would recommend.
We went to Siem Reap to visit the temples. Rather than have a flying visit we also wanted to spend a few days relaxing in a beautiful quiet hotel. We found the perfect place. The hotel is spotlessly clean and well maintained and provides everything you need to relax and enjoy the quite and peace. By far and away however, it is the hotel staff which made such a difference and added so much pleasure to our stay. From the moment you arrive they pleasantly and professionally take care of you in an unobtrusive way. They are magnificent!
Take it as read that the hotel fabric is delivered to the highest standards, take it as read that the breakfast and evening food is excellent, take it as read that the location is quiet yet close to town, take it as read that your expectations will not be disappointed and take it as read that this hotel is by far and away the most pleasant place to be.
All of this, and the wonderful praise you will read in other reviews, is not provided without superb staff and management. Thank you Naboos as the manager and thank you Shinta Mani staff for making our stay with you so pleasurable and memorable. You are rightfully proud of what you have achieved.
