How to Get There
We spent a very special three days here recently and I highly recommend you do the same! The hotel is gorgeous, the rooms so smartly decorated and the service impeccable. Everyone that works here is so eager to help. The bar also has an amazing cocktail program and a great happy hour!! I would definitely stay at shinta mani on my next visit to this beautiful country.
We decided to add 3 days in Cambodia onto our Vietnam trip which turned out to be a very wise move. An even wiser move was taking our travel agents advice and staying at Shinta Mani Angkor. The location is an easy 10 minute stroll or a $2US tutu ride to the main town of Siem Reap, at the same time it is far enough away from the noise of the town to be very quiet at night.
The ambience of Shinta Mani including our
room was overall very stylish. Our room had a very comfortable bed, a coffee machine, fresh fruit daily, a huge shower, beautiful mood lighting, a great range of English speaking channels on the TV and a nice view of the pool area from the balcony.
The buffet breakfast which was included had an excellent range of western and Asian dishes and fruits, or you can choose from the ala cart breakfast menu, also included.
Regarding the staff at Shinta Mani Angkor, from the manager down the staff are both a credit to the company they work for and themselves. Nothing was too much trouble, not to mention the glass of bubbles upon your arrival (an Australian Rose Moscato), the ice water offered to us whilst we were in the pool and the staff in general who always have a smile and friendly hello. I would also like to single out the manager Sophear Mot who allowed us to check out at 4pm, yes 4pm because of our late afternoon flight. This was a huge benefit because it allowed us to take a last casual stroll around town and then return to the room for a shower before the transfer to the airport.
In closing I would like to add that Shinta Mani Angkor is only a short drive to all the Angkor Temples. A sunrise at Angkor Wat is a must see as are Angkor Thom and the temple that Tomb Raider was filmed at, Ta Prohm. They can be all seen in 1 day with the early start (5am pick up). Shinta Mani staff even organised our takeaway breakfast for after the sunrise. The day tour was organised with our driver who picked us up from the airport. The cost was $85 which included an air conditioned vehicle, driver and guide. The drivers name was Hoy Hoy.
All in all an outstanding 3 days in Cambodia and Shinta Mani Angkor.
Room was large with everything you needed. Staff were friendly and caring. Nothing was too much trouble. They assisted in all our arrangements we requested. Best service and relationship with guests I have experienced. Very short walk to Siem Reap.
The hotel was in a beautiful Setting.
Breakfast was excellent
This hotel was my last on a two week trip through three countries in Asia and really just made my stay in Siem Reap. The hotel itself is exquisite but, for me, it was really the wonderful staff that just made it a great place.
The hotel is very well designed. Bensley has managed to achieve a modern design that also simultaneously fits in very well in Cambodia. My room was terrific. The bed is very comfortable. The bathroom not only had the usual range of toiletries but had toothbrush and shaving kits in case you needed them. The shower has tons of room. I normally am not a fan of having a shower head that you have to hold but it worked well in this enormous space. The shampoo and soap smelled nice and reminded me of Cambodia without being overpowering. A/C in room is excellent, which I very much appreciated in this very hot and humid place. The room has a safe tucked away, a HDTV with a variety of international channels. Plenty of space for your luggage and to hang clothes, though some may not like the absence of a dresser. Nice turndown service.
The rest of the hotel is equally lovely and tasteful. The lap pool is really good for a dip and nice relaxation after touring Angkor. Comfy towels provided and was also offered a lovely bit of ice cream. There is a bar with drinks service as well. I tried out the spa and had a very nice "Traditional Khmer" massage. No idea how traditional but very relaxing with refreshing tea and snack provided afterward. I enjoyed my breakfasts at Kroya. They have a good buffet with a mix of western and Cambodian choices. You can also order eggs and various other items. You can eat indoors with the A/C or outdoors on a swinging porch. The upstairs bar was very charming and provided a good range of drinks and cocktails, including their own inventions.
What really made the hotel for me was the simply kind and wonderful service that was a constant. Everyone seemed to know and to remember my name. My luggage got whisked to my room before I even got there. You always arrive back from touring around to a nice cold towel and a warm welcome. I really cannot say enough about the staff who all went the extra mile and seem truly dedicated to making this a great place to stay.
Great location with walking to the Old Market and some newer shops and coffee places within an easy distance.
Among the very top hotel experiences I have ever had.
I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights and staff were so kind and helpful. I have never seen any hotel with such a kind staff and service. The overall experience was amazing. Compare to thailand , here I had a different feeling mostly because service is from the bottom of the heart of people who works here . The room was beautifully decorated and comfortable. Everything was above my expectation and I totally recommend this hotel for your stay .
You can access both facilities pools and the food was great. Thank you vanaak and lievm for making my stay this comfortable . The spa was so good and nets thai massage I ever got .
