How to Get There
We flew into Catania and it was our first stop on our recent trip to Sicily. We stayed at Baia Verde while in the area and really enjoyed the hotel. The location is great and the views are tremendous. Our room didn't have a water view, but the room was more than fine. The only complaint is the pool closed at 7 p.m. Be aware that they do allow smoking on the patio dining area.
We spent a few days in this beautiful hotel. Taxi from airport was very expensive - but that is to be expected. Check in was off-fashioned and charming; just like the hotel. We had two rooms, both were clean and had excellent facilities. Beds very comfortable with great views over the gardens. Breakfast was in the most stunning room with a wall of windows looking over the sea! Possibly our best ever morning view. Breakfast was self service, but staff were helpful, bringing tea and coffee. Lots of choice for continental breakfast.
Pool area was superb, with excellent views of the sea crashing over the rocks. A very traditional hotel with delightful staff.
We had a weeks break in Sicily to both have some time in the hotel .swimming relaxing and aslo see the sights of Sicily. The sea swimming was fantastic where the hotel has direct frontage into the sea via cliff steps it was quite safe, the pool was also great. The pool bar is open to midnight making sandwiches and drinks.
The visitors in the hotel dressed smartly to dinner and in the piano bar..
The restaurant was good not great, but breakast was well supplied with a good buffet.
The rooms were large and comfortable and the hotel was very clean.
There is 3 restaurants within 10 minutes walk of the hotel which were all fine. The biggest problem is transport, the hotel is out of the town. We did use the very good but infrequent train service (buses are random) ´Tip get the underground from the catania station into town it is very cheap and frequent.
