Remote from the town but a fabulous view of one of the most spectacular temples

We stayed in room 105 which was very small and quite basic (e.g. tiled floors) but which opened up to a terrace and a view of one of the grandest of the temples. I understand that this is regarded as the best hotel in town. However, it is isolated with the only restaurant being expensive. If you don’t have a car, a taxi will cost you about 15 euros to get to the town which then offers many more dining opportunities with a variety of $$$’s. When we were at our hotel, and loving animals as we do, we were delighted to find a pigeon with a penchant for peanuts. He or she hovered round when we went for pre-dinner drinks which is in an outside area. When the peanuts arrived, the pigeon jumped into the bowl and devoured as many as it could. Some guests might find this disgusting, but we were amused.

Loved this hotel!

We really enjoyed this hotel. It is charming, with beautiful gardens, nice pool and the staff was great. I would however, have to say that it is not a 5 star property by any means. I would rate it 4 star. highly recommend it.

Delicious dinner in a beautiful setting !

We went as a family party of 4 to the restaurant of Hotel Villa Anthena only for dinner as we were staying in a nearby hotel, but all was excellent! The linen dressed tables, set outside under a covered terrace, have a fantastic view of the valley of the temples which are lit at night. The service was very professional and easy going and the head waiter helped with special requests. I had the best meal in a long time, which is hard to beat as one eats so well in Italy. The starters were small and delicate, and the main courses quite sufficient if you are on the hungry side – all so tasty and beautifully presented on white plates. I did not pay the bill ????, but I think the prices were very reasonable considering the quality of all of the above. I recommend it 100%!
