How to Get There
I stayed for three nights in a room overlooking the bridge and river below.
The room was spacious and very clean. Breakfast was a treat with many stations, the Asian pancake was especially good. I found the reception very helpful, especially Helen Wang, who really went out of her way to help with taxis etc.
It is always a pleasure to revisit the Chengdu Shangri-La hotel. My wife and myself made this hotel our starting point for a 10 days vacation trip to Tibet and another one week to Vietnam. Transiting Chengdu we stayed at the hotel on Oct. 20th as well as on Oct. 31st. (one night each).
The service which is offered by this hotel is exceptionally good. The breakfast alone is worth the stay. Staff is very friendly and professional, The hotel can be wholeheartedly recommended.
I had the privilege and pleasure to stay at the Shangrila hotel in Chengdu china from 1 November to 4 November 2019.
I was greeted by the concierge team of Mr. Jeff Wang and Mr. Tyler Wang who are permanent staff members and Ms. April, a university intern student who was assisting them as part of her required curriculum.
I felt very safe in the hotel because I chatted with some of the hotel security officers - Mr. Jackie Yu and Mr. Arthur Wang.
I also chatted with hotel restaurant managers Ms. Cathy, Ms. Mary, Mr. Alex and the working staff of intern students - Ms. Rita and Ms. Ida.
I had a brief encounter with the hotel's receptionist Ms. Lucy Lu.
All Shangrila staff was professional, friendly and spoke good English.
