How to Get There
We stayed her over a long weekend. Booked the weekend special and it was great. A centrally located urban resort - the bamboo plants at the entrance and the entire Zen feel of the lobby. The Hotel is now about 9 years old, but I still enjoyed the ambience of the place and the room. Heavenly beds and room. The free beverage is a plus.
The breakfast is excellent with freshly squeezed fruit juice and ala carte cooked items.
The service is excellent though I feel the check in can be more comprehensive for first time guest to tell them about the facilities.
I had a missing garment and the housekeeping took the effort to find it for me. Will definitely stay here again.
The PuLi hotel and Spa comes recommended. Plush rooms, great beds, great views, very central. Excellent staff and facilities.
The stay was relaxed, non intrusive. The room was exceptional and housekeeping was really good.
Breakfast and dinner are to be recommended.
Great relaxation areas in the main lobby.
Enjoy the pool, steam room, sauna and spa.
A travelers treat.
If you come to Shanghai, Jing'an is the best area to stay in; if you stay in Jing'an then the Puli is the place to be. I have stayed in a few places in Shanghai, and many of them quite elegant but also over-the-top, loud, too bright or colorful. The Puli is by contrast, soothing, serene and another level of romantic elegance that hits you softly almost if from the pages of an old travel book. Before you realize, you are entranced by the dark woods, clay tiles, the bronze finishes and the stone statuettes. I told my friends that I have a butler, and while that sounds amusing and antiquarian to say that I have to say that I miss my butler. It was a type of service that is not found in today's hustle bustle world. This respite from the ultra-modern world and its worries is what I enjoyed most. I will come back to Shanghai if only to stay in this wonderful place.
An Exquisite experience provided by The Puli Shanghai! Breakfast was definitely a fantastic match with the elegancey! Just can’t wait to come back to this luxury and peaceful hotel that’s tucked around the urban city!

Well done to the architect firm Layan and the urban resort mananagement and the taiwan hotel owner. They have create an outstanding hotel in Shanghai for the past 9 years. 5 years ago, i was chilling at The Puli long bar and stay there this time for my birthday trip. When u reach The Puli, you will seen a chinese design grey brick wall and a round bamboo plantation the middle of the hotel entrance. Its calms and freshen the guest mind when walking in at the to the hotel lobby. There is small outdoor water feature at the passageway that make a Tranquil environment. When you have the lobby, you will see a modern chinese resort design with ancient chinese elements that make you feel luxury and stability. Its motivate you to go up to the room and explore the 1 star michellin restaurant and the swimming pool, spa and gym. The design of the room is outstanding, well layout and flow, and both city & garden view is impressive. The free mini bar and the amenities make the guest feel more valuable when staying in a high end hotel. The food at the 1 star Michellin star restaurant Phenix is delicous and spread is quite alot. The design of the restaurant is superb design with a nice garden view and tranquil ambience when having your food. The swimming pool is outstanding design with perfect lighting and accessories and beautiful garden view. The Jarcuzzi and the oval shower area are perfect. Lastly, The Anantara spa is well design and the service of the staffs are polite and attentive.
