How to Get There
The hotel is nice, clean and in a good location.
However, the deposit policy is absolutely ridiculous. I stayed two nights and the hotel has taken a CNY 4000 deposit in total. We are now in mid February over 3 weeks and the hotel can still not refund the deposit to me. Two emails to the hotel and only get excuses for why the refund has not been given.
The hotel cannot just take guests' money for a month!
World traveler but never this experience at a 5 star luxury hotel.
6 night stay in a club room.
The puli hotel is a nice hotel in the financial district of Shanghai. The club room is spacious and finely decorated, very comfortable bed with good views over the city (smog departed). The room is divided into two areas, sleeping and then bathing with plenty of storage space.
Benefits of the club room is the complementary mini bar (no spirits or wine) but a couple of beers and plenty of soft drinks.
Only time I ate at the hotel was in the long bar, soft shell crab bun was delicious.
10 years in Shanghai and never changed my hotel room. This is the place to be for fashion and design fan. Now a littel bit old compares to new establishment but to me always the ones with the best atmosphere. U don’t feel like being in a city hotel, u feel like being in a resort.
Had an amazing stay at Pu Li. Although it was a bummer that the pool was closed I still got to experience other aspects of the hotel. Including the daily breakfast and late night room service which was the highlight of my stay. My sister and I order the beef burger stir fried noodles and they were delicious!
The Puli Hotel was an incredible experience. I stayed here with my husband for 5 nights from New Years Eve and did not want to leave. The hotel is a tranquil oasis and a beautiful place to wake up and come back to after a long day of exploring Shanghai. The service was perfect- concierge was helpful, room upgrade was appreciated. We stayed in a Grand King Room which was one of the most beautiful hotel rooms I've ever stayed in. We had a beautiful view of the temple and park. The room was spacious and comfortable. Nightly turndown made it so nice to come home to. There are plenty of amenities in the room, including wonderful teas, nespresso, a couple snacks, and free soft drinks and beer, plenty of water. (though I wish they could get rid of all the water bottles and put filtered water source in rooms). The bathroom amenities are amazing- razors, toothbrushes/toothpaste, anything you could need. Hairdryer was also great. The shower felt amazing and loved the bath by the window. Lots of options with lighting in the room, and blackout shakes made for an amazing sleep. Did not eat breakfast in hotel, but did go for Happy Hour the the Phoenix twice (which was a great deal!) and wish we had made it there for their weekday pre fixe lunch. Loved the Long Bar, so nice to unwind with tea or a cocktail. The hotel location was very convenient- easy to access subway - 2 line goes everywhere! Note cabs are a little difficult to get in Shanghai, (and need cash)- but the hotel can help you get one when leaving there and write down in Chinese characters where you are going. The pool/spa was very nice, used the gym daily. Unfortunately gym was closed 3/5 days of our stay, so didn't get to use the pool much, though would have liked to. Overall excellent value for money.
