How to Get There
Best described as a luxury boutique, Les Suites Orient far exceeded my expectations. Staying here was a five-star experience at a mid-range price point. Highlights of my four night stay include: free breakfast, Western- and Chinese-style, that was probably best hotel breakfast I've ever had; an excellent location right by the Bund, across from the ferry terminal, and 10 min from the nearest subway station; impeccable service from all the staff members I interacted with; luxurious rooms; unlimited and free bottles of water; and a 24-hour 'cafe' area with free coffee, water, and snacks. In addition, the WiFi was decent and pretty good by Chinese hotel standards. I won't hesitate to stay here again next time I'm in Shanghai, and I wish all my hotel experiences could be like this one.
Room superb and breakfast really good selection, well serviced and staff really helpful...the views from our room 1007 were spectacular, overseeing the river and people meandering along the Bund...definitely will return here !!!
Whilst we had a booking problem with this hotel we shouldn't let fine print ruin our visit. It was probably a little our fault, but there was no budging with post booking changes. Be aware. That said, what a hotel, what a location and would stay again.
During our recent trip to China, stayed here for three nights. Out of all the places we stayed, this was the most expensive, but I thought the location and the views were well worth the price. We had huge windows in the room from which, we had wonderful views of the river and the bund. You step out of the hotel and you are rewarded with the famous skyline view of Shanghai. The location was also ideal for visiting the tourist attractions in Shanghai as most of the attractions were located within the close proximity to the hotel. In addition, the hotel was right across from where you can take the public ferry to the other side – If I remember it was only 1 or 2 yuans per ride. Ridiculously cheap compared to the overpriced tourist boats.
The only complaint I have was the shaving blade they had as part of the complimentary toiletries in the bathroom. It was a ridiculously cheap quality and at some point, I was worried I might have to go out with a half shaven beard to buy to proper blade to complete my shaving. I really hope the hotel will improve on the quality of the toiletries provided. Other than this, we did have an enjoyable stay in the hotel and I thought the extra money we paid was well worth the views and location of the hotel.
I loved this beautiful hotel. Excellent service. I was very unhappy my budget room had no river view and they very kindly did a complimentary upgrade. It is right on the Bund- the river with amazing Shanghai skyline and promenade that is super fun to stroll on in the evening. It is right across the street from ferry ride which I went on everyday. Only 2 yuan! The hotel had free happy hour in lobby everyday from 5:30-7 . Delicious drinks complimentary and lovely time to meet other hotel guests. Also convenience stores on block for late night snacks .
