How to Get There
I'd like to compliment the Shangri-La Hotel Qingdao and it's staff. The hotel, rooms, facilities, restaurants were all great. The price was also very competitive. I have no hesitation to thoroughly recommend this hotel and I will be staying again. Special commendation to Dora Pan for being such a great help. Thanks.
We came back to this hotel again and am NOT surprised it offered us the same level of excellent service. The place we used frequently was the Horizon Club, which is a great place to relax and work. The HC team is second to none. This hotel exemplifies the notion of “Shangri-la hospitality”. For more detail, visit my previous reviews, which are still valid. Highly recommended.
I again enjoyed my pleasant stay at Shangri-La Hotel, Qingdao. Thank you Kiki Zhang, Vivian Wang and Gina Yo for the great service during my work at the business lounge. It did make my work and stay in Qingdao so much more comfortable.
Business travelers will appreciate this luxury hotel where kindness is natural , service is top of the art and location is absolutely the best
Clean in every detail, efficient and people always ready to answer to every need
Rooms are really quiet, temperature is the correct one and furniture is in perfect condition, wireless very good
Asian style but very functional and updated
We stayed again at this hotel in April. After an absence of 1.5 years we were still remembered by people we met on our last trip; Grace Yu and Anny Zhang. It's nice to see that Anny has in the interim been promoted to the Front Desk Manager position.
As in the past what makes the Shangri-La Qingdao standout is the service. Excellent throughout. On this trip I should mention Winine who was looking after our room. Very efficient, mention something once and she does not forget. Hard worker and I happened to walk into the room when she was cleaning; I found her scrubbing the shower glass walls, no shortcuts. What was really unexpected is a note in English detailing the work she did. Although her conversational English is not so good; her written English is on par if not better than housekeeping staff in North American hotels. It seems Shangri-La recruits students and they are very good.
On this trip I must particularly commend Mr Zhang, the Manager of the restaurant where we had breakfast. He looked after us very well in spite of running around the entire restaurant to ensure all was going smoothly. He was very attentive and noted that we took honey with our breakfast and subsequently we always found honey at our table. He also makes an excellent cappuccino and fresh orange juice. The restaurant was at capacity but the food quality, ingredients, cleanliness and standard remained excellent.
The only negative on this trip was our room. We stayed this this time at the Valley Wing and was pleased with the room. However of the seven nights we stayed; two nights the room was smoke filled. The cigarette smoke came in through the bathroom vent even though we were on a non-smoking floor. Mr Goto tried his best but was unsuccessful in locating the culprit. This happened on the first night and the last night of our stay. Mr. Goto left an air filtration machine in our room and with the windows opened the smell was reduced. I believe the hotel should be more firm in policing smoking on non-smoking floors.
