Condo in the Smoky Mountains-Unit 412

Baskins Creek is a condo community managed by Wyndham, so each unit is individually owned (not a timeshare) and furnished.

I have seen a lot of things in Gatlinburg, mostly places that look like Hee-Haw blew up in them. The calming blue, beach cottage vibe of this unit was a refreshing change.

The pictures on the website are 100% accurate. The place was spotlessly clean and everything was very comfortable.

There's a large TV in the living room with a very comprehensive cable package. Additionally, there's a Roku unit, although the batteries had burst in the Roku remote, rendering it useless. If we were super-serious about dealing with it, one of the bedroom remotes might have worked, but as it was, who cared?

The Wifi Crab was located directly outside the door, so we had great coverage. The kitchen is well outfitted, although the Farberware cooking pots are less than optimal, they were fine for what cooking we did. The knives are pretty terrible, so you may want to pack your own.

The hot tub was not only not functional, it had been drained and disassembled pending some sort of repair, the pool was not open, although as warm as the weekend was, it would have been welcome!

Instacart will deliver groceries from Publix in Pigeon Forge to the unit, this is a HUGE improvement over some of the other grocery options in the area.

Although we were advised to bring paper towels and toilet paper, it wasn't necessary, as there was plenty for the couple of days we were there.

The building was very quiet, and the climate control worked quite well. There's a gas fireplace in the living room.

The location. It's not really in the forest, so the view is mostly of other places nearby or the pool. The parking lot was pretty easy to deal with. I also liked the codes needed for the elevator and room, as no keys to keep track of. There's a nice creek that we were able to see and hear from our terrace and it was very pleasant to sit out in the shade.

The Wyndham staff were only around from 9-5, so bear that in mind.

The beds were comfortable, the water, commodious and hot.

It's a moderate walk from the hotel to the Trolley Stop, which puts you across from Ripley's Aquarium and right at Anakeesta-the new ski lift attraction.

Although we had a perfectly fine time in the condo, it wasn't really mountainy, like you'd get at a cabin, and it wasn't really hotel/resort, like you'd get at that kind of property. If you like the looks of it, and you like the price of it, I'd recommend it, but if you're looking for a particular feeling about the stay, you might be disappointed.

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights on a weekend getaway. The thing we liked most about it was that it was in walking distance to the Parkway in Gatlinburg. We didn’t need to drive the whole weekend. The condo was comfy with adequate space. We liked that there was more room than a standard hotel room. We would stay here again.

Fantastic!

Our condo was so clean and check in was a breeze. We were emailed our elevator code and room code, so after a nine hour drive with two little ones we went straight to our condo. Very nicely decorated and so comfortable. There is no down side to staying at Baskin Creek!

Very nice suite for our family of 7!

Wonderful condo - clean, well-maintained, modern condo. We were impressed with the cleanliness and quality of furnishings. 3rd floor condo with 2 bedrooms 2 baths, living room, kitchen and outside balcony overlooking Gatlinburg. Located 2 blocks from the start of Parkway (main strip of Gatlinburg) this condo was close enough to walk to all the activities and avoid parking fees. Feeding a family of 7 is expensive, so having the full kitchen was handy - and the automatic dishwasher was a time saver. We also appreciated the washer/dryer in the bathroom - saved us hunting down a laundry. We did have to get used to the condo aspect, however, as we went to the front desk for more towels and were told that they didn't hand out towels - just what they stocked in our condo - same for toilet paper and paper towels.

We were looking for a place to stay in the heart of Gatlinburg because we like to walk the strip and people watch and 2 of our favorite restaurants are nearby. We usually stay in a hotel but I found this place on line, it looked nice, so I thought we would try it. When we pulled in the parking lot we were immediately pleased with the look of the place; neat, clean, covered parking. We also were pleased that you need a security code to access the elevators. Each condo also has a security code entrance. Once inside, we found our condo beautifully decorated, clean and with a well stocked kitchen. Each bathroom is large and roomy. Very nice fireplace in the living room. A view of the mountains from the patio. The only small complaints I would have would be that the bed pillows were very flat and not particularly comfortable and the $75 cleaning fee. The one short interaction I had with the person at the front desk was pleasant, friendly and helpful. The lobby was beautifully decorated also.
