How to Get There
Stayed here for the rugby weekend and enjoyed the weekend in Edinburgh. A somewhat unusual hotel with the 3 floor being the main floor of the hotel. The snug bar looked quaint but closed really early for us! The outdoor garden is picturesque and quaint. Staff were excellent.
The Glasshouse is in a great spot for the Playhouse, Princes Street, train, tram and bus links and other visitor attractions in Edinburgh.
The rooms are clean, uniquely designed and very comfortable.
The roof terrace is a special attraction to the hotel with views to Carlton Hill. A peaceful area to sit with direct access from some of the rooms. We found it a peaceful oasis.
The attractive bar has a beautiful open fire and is very comfortable with a wide range of beverages for all tastes.
The major highlight of our stay was the incredible staff. They are truly a credit to the hotel with their knowledge of the city and their professional and friendly approach. We were welcomed by Erick who was so enthusiastic about showing us our room as he wanted to see our reaction. We stayed in the Laphroig Suite (Room 50) which opened out onto the terrace and we were blown away when we saw our accommodation. Erick told us about his love of Edinburgh and was a real ambassador not just for the hotel but for the city.
I live in Edinburgh but was staying there post theatre with my Mum as a treat. I can say this hotel is going to be our future 'go to place' when my Mum visits again. We loved it and cant wait for an excuse to book again.
Would I recommend this hotel? Definately. We have already recommended it to people who we know visit Edinburgh regularly. A little touch of heaven which makes a stay Edinburgh even more memorable.
Our room was excellent. It opened onto the rooftop garden. The staff could not have
been nicer or more helpful. They went above and beyond. They gave us shortbread cookies in our room and other "goodies". Loved the thistle left on the bed at night.
This hotel was recommended by a friend and I'm glad I followed the recommendation. The hotel is conveniently situated just a few hundred meters from the tram stop. The staff were excellent from check in to checkout.
Very polite and helpful staff, excellent rooms and fantastic breakfast. There is a nice small bar area and is perfectly situated for the train station and all central attractions. It's just a little pricey as you might expect for a boutique hotel.
