How to Get There
I have stayed at Apex Waterloo a few times now and will definitely go back a few more.
The location is fantastic for a visit to Edinburgh City with great access to both the bus station and Waverley train station. Being at the end of Princes Street means its a short walk to both shopping and bars/restaurants.
The rooms are fine, but nothing special. Comfortable beds, Tv, storage. I do love that they all have baths in though.
The Spa at the Apex is brilliant, I always go down for a massage. You feel like you’re in the middle of an Oasis not the city centre. Relatively reasonable priced.
The staff are brilliant from concierge, reception to house keeping.
I took my best friend for her 30th and they were brilliant at setting up her room with some things I’d sent and then evening leave some things themselves.
The Apex at Waterloo only doesn’t get a 5 star from me because of the food. I have only eaten in the restaurant twice. Once for dinner and once for a spa lunch. Reading the menus i was excited as there was new and exciting things. But I just ended up disappointed. Crayfish linguini was bad - really overlooked pasta which for me is a real basic.
I would recommend the Apex Waterloo to anyone wanting a great city break.
I and my family loved the hotel and the location. Very friendly staff, Adelina, Kaela, Jared, Linda and Natalia specially. They made sure our stay was perfect and gage us excellent suggestions for sightseeing. Waverley station was just 3 minutes walk, general store was just outside the hotel. Good fast food and restaurants also 5 minutes walk away. Edinburgh castle and Calton Hill just 10 minutes and 5 minutes walk away.
Thank you to everyone. Will love to stay in this hotel next visit ????????????????????
Abdullah from Pakistan.
Our experience was great from the time we checked in until we left. The staff was very helpful. On the first day, Jack checked us in and was very informative. We gave us advice about where to eat and told us how and where to exchange USD. Linda took our luggage upstairs while Jack was helping us!
The hotel is very clean, rooms are spacious, bed is comfortable and, though I would have never thought it would matter, the AIR CONDITIONER worked well!!! (It has been HOT here). Another great thing is that they have USB ports to charge your phone! This is a big deal!!!
The best thing about this hotel is it’s location! Both of our tours left from bus stops right across the street. The train station is literally a block away and the Hop-On-Hop-Off starting position is about 2 blocks away. (A 5 minute walk)
Tips: There is a nice little place for breakfast on the corner to the left when you leave the hotel. The name is Martone. We ate there every morning. It was tasty and reasonably priced.
We were on a high floor, but I did still hear noise from outside that woke me up two nights. Consider a noise machine. I wish I had brought mine.
