rooftop unavailable, always booked with private parties :(
Reviewed 4 days ago

The staff at the front desk were great! Very helpful, but the whole reason I booked the stay at this hotel was the rooftop. Sadly both nights we were there it was booked for private parties. Another couple we met who stayed there for 5 nights said all but 2 nights were booked for events. AND when we wanted to get a drink in the main restaurant they didn't have any staff to help us because they were ALL WORKING THE PRIVATE PARTY!! This is terrible for guests!!! It took us over 30min just to get a drink downstairs. At what point do guests take priority over events? Should at least tell the guests before they arrive and let them book elsewhere if needed because I thought it was a real bad deal that we couldn't even go up there to enjoy it at all. Wouldn't stay again sadly. Not even in the rare chance that the rooftop would be open.

Nice Hotel, poorly soundproofed

+ Charming hotel
+ Clean
+ Superb bedding
+ Well located
+ nice roofbar
+ superb breakfast

Negative :
- Very poorly soundproofed! At 11pm, we hear the doorkeepers or the receptionist speaking/singing. We also hear the roofbar and from 6:30 am we hear the receptionists, the neighbors above walk...
- when you shower, a lot of water outside
- Very poor organization. We book a transport for our last day via the airport for 10:30 am (Saturday) and at the same time we ask for a transport to the airport right away (Wednesday 8am). The reservation is made for Saturday's, and we are called the hotel transport. We are told to wait 10 minutes. 1h30 later, we are still asked to wait 10 minutes... (because of this, we ask to postpone the transfer from Saturday to 10am). On Saturday, we arrive at 9:50 am at the reception to check-out + wait for the transfer. There the receptionist tells us that the schedule has not been communicated to the driver, and that he would probably come around 10:30. We took a taxi instead of this transfer (which even cost us less).

Quaint hotel with great roof top restaurant

A beautifully balmy night - empanadas were outstanding- have them with a pisco sour - then thebpork with a Cabernet - excellent service - thank you...what else can I say - the views are spectacular. We also had a coffee dessert to share - this was also of a high standard

Outstanding Service and great hotel

We arrived quite late at night last week, but were greeted by Piere at the front desk who couldn't have been more welcoming and friendly. He understood we must have been tired, and read that we were on our honeymoon, and decided to upgrade us 2 classes of room higher, and delivered a bottle to our room. The last day of our honeymoon and the loveliest way to be treated (considering the awful treatment we had at our previous, and much more expensive hotel).

Really fantastic location, beautiful building with gorgeous lift. Incredible roof top bar with fantastic views. Did I mention the incredibly comfy bed?

What more could you want?

A gem of art deco architecture with most original fittings and fixtures and a glorious suite.

The staff were welcoming and helpful, they happily stored items we did not want to take to Easter Island and had them ready on our return. The suite and other rooms have fresh flowers in and a daily gift of chocolates. Amazing internal atrium with hanging lanterns. The roof top restaurant and bar has a plunge pool and serves good cocktails, an innovative modern menu and excellent wines. Not really surprising as it is surrounded by wine growing areas (do a tour with tasting). Free pisco sours but try the mango pisco, very nice indeed.
Also within easy walking distance of the Museum of Pre-Columbian Art, shopping areas, squares and cafes and restaurants. Breakfast is fun, served in the downstairs art deco style area. You an also get an early breakfast.
