How to Get There
My wife and I stayed 2 nights at the Avila La Fonda Hotel. Once again it was as good as always. The staff is so warm and welcoming you feel like family. The amenities you receive at this place from morning till dessert is amazing. My wife and I really enjoy the wine & appetizers in the evening. It's a great way to meet people and get to know the staff. Don't let the price of the rooms scare you off from visiting this place. With everything you receive it is well worth the price. We will be returning for another visit soon.
This was our 3rd stay and this place does not disappoint. The hospitality is 2nd to none. We got to wake up to the sound of soft rain and seagulls on Valentine’s Day morning. We slept wonderfully after a nice soak in the room jacuzzi after an awesome couples massage from Avila Beach Massage and pie a la mode. We loved the wine reception last night and the scrumptious croissants for breakfast. We will be back every year!
Granted, our stay was in the slow season but we did enjoy our stay. We were in room 109, a deluxe grand with outdoor kitchen I had intended to use but circumstances didn't allow. We thoroughly enjoyed the room and the staff were awesome as well. We ended up at Olde Port Inn for dinner, and the Avila was a great experience! Don't miss out on the croissants for breakfast, they were fantastic!
This was the first place my wife and I went out of town together almost 10 years ago. This last week, we went back, and asked ourselves why did we wait 10 years to come back? This place is amazing. Quiet, friendly staff. Clean rooms, lovely area. Just far enough off the beach to not be disturbed by nightlife, but close enough to "stumble back" if you choose to indulge in a few drinks.
They have free movies, and some free drinks as well, but nothing to write home about here. It is nice as a little after thought, but not a meal plan for sure.
The pricing can be a little steep due to only having 28 rooms during the prime season, but the off season rates are the way to go.
We will be going back for sure.
My wife and I were looking for a nice place to spend a couple days that was drivable from home. She found this hotel on Travel Zoo. It had great ratings do we decided to give it a try. Very nice and intimate hotel. Friendly team and clean rooms. It was nice to have a basket of snacks waiting for us in our room. At 5pm we enjoyed complimentary wine and appetizers. We just got back from dinner and are going to enjoy the complimentary pie they serve at 8pm. If that wasn’t enough, at 6:30am they have homemade croissants and coffee. At noon they will have nachos and beer. Almost no reason to leave the hotel. Our room has a nice sized balcony and kitchen. The hotel is literally 100 yards from the beach and a number of restaurants and gift stores. A great little town and we are sure to enjoy our time here. I have to mention Lindsey who is an awesome employee. She hosted the wine event while training a second person at the front desk and she didn’t miss a beat. She was very positive and friendly. She definitely helped make this a perfect first day! Looking forward to our next couple of days.
