How to Get There
The Lodge is a rare gem. In these days of trendy hotels built to last a few years, the Lodge sits as admist a manicured golf course and the eternal beauty of the ocean and mountains. The staff is extremely kind and thoughtful, and the cuisine is a fitting match. The rooms look rustic enough to be in a lodge, but they have all of the modern amenities that may it easy to be a business travel who still needs to work a bit. Truly exceptional.
Third visit to the Lodge and it was even more special. The place feels human; one senses immediately that being a guest here means you are cared for. Your enjoyment of the Lodge's amenities and ambiance are important to every staff member. I've been to the Lodge with three generations of family, and every one of us cannot wait to return.
Honestly, the Lodge is an absolute incredible first class property! They have thought of everything and go above and beyond for the comfort of their guests. The rooms are spacious, spotless and serene. We loved the peace of the place and had amazing sleeps in the quiet rooms. Our balcony overlooked the garden which was quiet and private, we enjoyed our balcony every evening. The amenities in the rooms like slippers, robes, toiletries, etc were all high quality. We asked for more ice a couple of nights and within minutes housekeeping was there to replenish our ice bucket.
The restaurants on property were exceptional. Both restaurants had amazing food and service. The outdoor heaters at The Grill were a nice touch. The concierge made restaurant recommendations off site that we really enjoyed as well.
The location of the property for outdoor activities is perfect. We ran every morning along the path down to the ocean and enjoyed running along the ocean. There are several small hikes close by in the Park as well.
Overall, I cannot recommend this place enough! We went for 3 nights and are already talking about returning.
I love the mountains and the ocean. We felt we had both at Torrey PINES. The lodge is like a mountain retreat, but only step outside to see the ocean. The staff is exceptional and customer service is top priority. We felt welcomed from the moment we stepped out of our car. Andy at the front desk went above and beyond to help us with an issue that did not involve the lodge. The concierge staff are at the ready with suggestions for restaurants , activities etc. Justin one of the bellmen was another who delivered above and beyond service. Kristen in sales was very helpful in navigating some of our special needs. We had such a relaxing time. My only suggestion is that it would be nice to have a small coffee shop to purchase a muffin or a banana. I can't eat much in the morning. The coffee service in the bar is a great addition.
This is a beautiful hotel right on the grounds of the famous Torrey Pines Golf Course in San Diego. The interior gives you the feeling that you are in the mountains, but just walk outside for the ocean view and sunshine. Great restaurant, don't miss it.
