How to Get There
Loved the hotel. Very convenient for walking all over LaJolla downtown. They even provided a stitching room after hours for our stitching needs. It was used by many and appreciated.
Restaurant food was great and decent wine list.
I found the rooms very comfortable and the mattress was perfect. Small coffee maker(Starbucks Coffee), small refrigerator, and a safe. Linens were very soft. While I was there, the weather tended to be a bit misty/rainy and the hotel had provided umbrellas in each room.
Very nice hotel, only a few blocks to the La Jolla Cove, and central to many shops and restaurants in the area. The included breakfast was also very good. Valet parking was convenient and prompt when the car was requested.
Great place to celebrate my son Birthday, he had an amazing time, room was amazing. The front desk very friendly and make you feel special. very close to the the cove and other restaurants like Eddy's V . walking distance to many other restaurants and shops
The Empress is a delightful hotel in an excellent location within walking distance of both the bay and shops of La Jolla. It is especially good value--at a reasonable price that includes a very generous continental breakfast offered on their enclosed patio.
Only negative aspect was the carpets needed a little refreshing--both in the corridors and especially in our room where there were some stains that should have been removed.
Other than that, I highly recommend this property.
My son and I stayed here for 3 nights during springbreak. The Empress is in a great location for walking to the beach for sunsets, going out to dinner and exploring the town. The staff were friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend the Empress!
