How to Get There
This was my second stay at Hilton Frontenac. It's a great hotel, with many amenities in house as well as a few restaurants nearby. I was in town for a conference that was about 1 mile from the hotel. It was tough to get into the city because I didn't have a car, but with a rental the location seems quite convenient, especially for easy access to the airport.
The airport shuttle made the experience nearly perfect. Not having to worry about booking a car to the airport (or the extra expense) made my trip effortless.
I arrived late to my room, and saw bugs, I was extremely disappointed and disgusted. It was late and I was to tired to call the desk. I spoke to the manager and he moved me to another room, but did not feel appreciated.
Must eat at the Province usually hotel restaurants are in poor quality and over priced but not here. We had really good meals and the staff was amazing.
Rooms were clean and the beds so comforable.
Only thing is it is SO BIG you need a map to navaigate between the buildings so put on your walking shows.
Neighborhood is excellent if you have $$
Arrived for a wedding and the hotel was conveniently located just off I-64. Check in was a breeze and I had chosen my room online. The back rooms of 1418, 1419 etc offer exceptional quiet. This hotel was built solid and I heard nothing from my neighbors. I tried the bar and it was fine and the bartender and I talked hockey. The breakfast buffet was $22 and had everything, including French Toast. I found it impossible to exit the front driveway onto Lindburgh, but if you travel to the back end of the parking lot, you get on Clayton, a side street with a stop light. You will NOT be able to turn left on Lindburgh. I had the hamburger for room service Saturday night and it was OK. A festive wedding reception was going on down the hall and I heard nothing of it. Next morning, out at 5am with no problems. I would come here again in a second. You can access Route 64 easily.
Horrible experience. Signed up for Honors membership. Paid in full for room weeks ahead of visit. We arrive around 5 p.m. well past check in time and told they are behind and rooms are not ready. We have to wait an additional 45 minutes. After that time, they tell us the nice large room we reserved online is gone, and now we have to take a much smaller room. The carpeted areas outside the doors smelled horrific. Then the bathroom was so uncomfortable and small. If you were sitting on the toilet and someone opened the door, you would get your feet and knees crushed. The shower was way up high, you had to step up a rather large step, then another step to get into the tub. They left a tub mat that if you laid on the floor, in the small space they gave you, you couldn't open the bathroom door because it would get stuck. If you laid it on the step you had to take to get into the shower, it was too big and you risked slipping and falling. In room breakfast was not great. Sausage patties burned and hard. Just overall horrible stay. And customer service, when trying to share our displeasure, was absent. Could spend same amount of money anywhere else, even Chicago and get much better quality and treatment.
