How to Get There
The good , food excellent buffet and restaurants . Staff all helpful and friendly . Pools really good plus swim up bars with good atmosphere . Beach and sea really nice loads of sun beds. Nice to have choice to walk other to the other hotels . A relief to have air condition in lobby bar to cool down. Rooms also excellent . Bad, I smoke with a drink . The smoking areas are awful these two one out front and one on the beach be hind a hedge we’re it’s dark and you cant sit and watch anything tho the other two hotels have proper sitting areas for smokers by the stages . Entertainment of a night time . Your in bed by eleven it all stops music off and it’s the same in all three hotels . Yes you have a night club in Montego Bay hotel went three times. The longest we stayed in there was half hour no atmosphere at most 20 people in there. You come back to 24 hour bar and sit on your own . Its mad. me and my mrs would sit of a evening watch the entertainment just start to get Merry . eleven a clock comes everyone goes to bed . So no late nights lol . Overhaul good holiday
As soon as we entered the lobby we were greeted at the front desk with champagne while waiting for our card keys to our rooms. My son celebrated his birthday during that week and he came back to his room to find it decorated and a gift on the credenza. The food was great with 4 restaurants on site. Entertainment was enjoyable since we were in the "adults only" hotel, there was a foam party in one of the pools.
Let me start by saying this place is amazing and is by far the best out of the 3 Riu Hotels at Mobay.
Reggie is a very loud and party style hotel but offers the best entertainment as it's also adults only.
Riu Montego Bay is a family hotel and is less than a party style hotel. Their entertainment is targeted to the children but its enjoyable for adults also. However, their drinks are for some reason the worst out the 3 hotels. This hotel is due a refurb in February 2020.
Riu Palace is the place to be, their atmosphere is very varied. They have louder areas, and the quietest pool bar is the lime bar. It's far quieter, which is what we like during the day. The entertainment has been brilliant but staying at The Palace gives you much more variety! We found ourselves visiting all hotels to see their entertainment time tables to plan our evening.
Here is the only thing that has really annoyed me.. the restaurants change their opening days every day!!!! We found ourselves looking forward to visiting one, only to find the timetable had been changed at some point that day. We thought it was us getting it wrong, until I photographed them all and checked again later that day and crossed referenced them against my photos.
The food though is literally amazing, it's by far the best all inclusive buffet I have ever eaten, there is so much variety.
There is plenty of food available during the day for snacks/lunch. You must try the jerk chicken from the Reggie beach hut.
The house wines are delicious they give you with your evening meal.
All the alcohol in Rui is premium but you need to ask for it otherwise you get the house stuff which is actually rather nice.
The mini bar is refilled daily, if not it's a phone call to reception and they come straight away.
The room service is rather pointless if you ask me, the menu is very basic but it's there if you need it. Although we waited 45mins for a sandwich!
Overall, this hotel is really nice and all the staff are amazing. Would I come again? Yes I would! It would have been 5 stars, but those annoying restaurants have really annoyed me and the room service was poor.
