How to Get There
We are coming to the end of our 2 week stay. We arrived on 6 June to marry at Riu Palace and spend the remainder of our time here on honeymoon.
Unfortunately communicating with the wedding co-ordinator was stressful both from home and when we arrived. We should have been greeted by Nekeisha and an appointment made for us to go over wedding details. We had to ask the Nexos representative to organise this for us as we hadn’t heard from the co-ordinatior. Our request to have canapés prior to the wedding meal was not arranged. Neither was it communicated that the canapés had been arranged following the wedding and so the food was wasted and where the staff helped themselves. We were given a day to decide music for the wedding, type of cake and filling etc when all of this could have been considered before we arrived.
Apart from the above we’ve had an amazing time and where we and our family and friends have thoroughly enjoyed our time at Riu and would highly recommend for activities both during the day and evening. “Cash” who is the life and soul of the Riu during the day brings a welcome party atmosphere to the beach; a vibrancy and spirit which lifts the whole of the resort, staff included. This guy is an asset to Riu Palace.
The service is first rate and the food amazing throughout.
We’ve already booked to spend our first anniversary here next year. Well done Riu. We’re fans.
Had a fantastic two week stay from the 3rd of June. Would like to thank everyone from Candy K and Kash in entertainment Paul in the Auqua bar and all the Chefs for the food. The palace sits in the middle of the rui ereggae and montego bay and is adult only. The rooms all have optics with brandy whisky rum vodka gin, and tea coffee making facilities. Fridge that is stocked with beer water and soft drinks, would definitely recommend
Excellent hotel in a prime location on the beach service was first class from main dining room to speciality restaurants .Desrick is a excellent barman mixing first class cocktails and Tamar kept drinks coming all day around the pool. Everything about this hotel is excellent wouldn’t hesitate to return
Excellent staff, accommodations, entertainment and food. We had a great time relaxing and enjoying the atmosphere. I would strongly recommend Riu Palace in Montego Bay because you would have access to the other Riu Resorts on the property.
Our 3rd stay at a Riu hotel, previous ones were at the dominican republic. This hotel chain really gets it, their staff understand that the guests are not a 'necessary evil' as is the case with a lot of hotel staff and that the guests enable them to have their jobs and the more that the guests enjoy their stay the more likely they will return thus securing their jobs long term plus happy guests mean they are more likely to tip, so benefiting financially too. This year when choosing a holiday, we made sure that the hotel was a Riu hotel due to our prior experience. This has lived up to our expectations again, first class accomodation, food was exceptional quality, standard and presentation. Entertainment was good with the animations team working exceptionally hard, I wished I had half their energy!! We are already looking in to our next main holiday for 2020 and yes, it will definitely be a Riu hotel. The staff throughout the hotel, waiters, bar staff, cleaners, reception, etc were all happy to help, nothing too much trouble and smiles on their faces. They work long hours for low pay compared to us, so please tip them, just a couple of hundred jamaican dollars at a time is approx £1.30, nothing to us but makes a huge difference to them, and they really appreciate it. Some all inclusive packages turn out to 'not include water' or you get served with a small glass after waiting a long time to be served - not with the Riu. All inclusive means that - no extra costs for wi-fi, or room safes etc. etc. and the waiters actively seek out the guests whether on the beach or at a show to see if anyone needs their drinks topping up. The beach was perfect, private, no traders hassling you, sandy beach and calm warm to hot water in the sea, like getting in to a bath. If I could give 6 stars I would.
