How to Get There
EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE!!!! Loved every minute of it. Food and drinks were outstanding and the service provided by each one of the employees was excellent!!! Deff will come back to Montego Bay for more me time and experience the city!
we stayed at this resort that is pretty close to the airport. the construction of this resort is stunning. it's well built and i can say that my room was one of the nicer places that i stayed at. we had a nice view of the bay. the food is okay. the jerk chicken is quick and easy. we enjoyed our breakfast at this place that had a view of the bay and they served some of kind salt fish along with plantains. i think it's an ideal place for a 2 or 3 day trip. it does feel a little bit repetitive after some time. the service is okay. the folks can use a little more enthusiasm.
The Zilara looks inviting online, and of course the photos are enticing along with the dining options. But reality is another thing.
It should really be listed as a party vacation spot for 20 to 30 year olds. Most of the day is filled with loud music, and the majority of guests are stupid drunk by noon. The swim-up bar opens at 10 a.m. and we didn’t see anyone, of any age, without an alcoholic beverage all day.
The dining options sound great, but only one restaurant surpassed expectations. The French restaurant was far from classic French, and the protein was chewy. The Brazilian experience is on the Ziva side of the resort, which is a family location: unruly kids, bland meat, and unappetizing salad bar. Fusion, the Asian experience, was too crowded for us to get a table, but I expect the food was just as inedible. The shop with unbelievably delicious sweets doesn’t allow anything to be taken with you - they only provide small napkins so you have to eat your selections while there.
The Zilara beach is abundant in seaweed, as is the water, and the sand within the swimming area is extremely rocky. Water shoes required. Alternatively, the Ziva beach is pristine and the sand spotless. But we chose the adult side to avoid children.
On the bright side, all staff are extremely hospitable and eager to please. Housekeeping is great, and they check on guests later in the day to make sure all needs are met.
The lobby area personnel are confusing, and apparently confused. Asking a question at the front desk isn’t easy, since they seemed to be checking guests in or out all day. The concierge is the most helpful, but that desk is located around a corner from the main lobby. Who knew?
The new Hyatt Zilara and Ziva are the best resorts on the island of Jamaica. If you are looking for a meeting location, incentive for your business or large group or just a personal vacation. This is one of the best resorts i have experienced in awhile. the Butlers i had were top notch! the grounds are beautiful. the restaurants have the best food! I thought i would not take a vacation to Jamaica but this turned me around on it.
By far this is the best hotel I've ever visited in Jamaica. From the beautiful property to the beautiful staff, the food is excellent and the service is just great. While I was there I visited the Zen Spa and the service that I got was just amazing. I appreciated how every staff great you with "Service from the Heart" and every time they did it made my heart melt. The drink selection is large and the hotel entertainment from the pool parties to the silent lobby parties will have you dancing your A** off. The property is so large and beautiful and the food, Oh God the Food. You have so many places to choose from at any time of the day and there are even places where the kids can while you lounge at the beach and enjoy your vacation. Also, no matter what property you are checked into, you have access to anywhere and can easily go from Hyatt Zilara to Hyatt Ziva and back. Its a vacation you won't regret nor forget.
